I'm don't have a Pig yet but am shopping for one. I looked at one today with a lot going for it BUT of course there were a few concerning rusty spots... I was hoping someone could chime in and estimate just how nasty the surgery would be to fix this. This is the worst of it, just in one corner of the roof. I guess what I need to know is can this be patched with sheet metal or do I have to pull the whole roof or ??? What do you think? I have a tig welder & loved metal shop but just how intense of a project would someone estimate I am looking at?

no estimates on cost, but I'd run away and find another.

it looks like it's been "worked" on already and these spots are starting to come out again. you have no idea what other areas are just waiting to show themselves.

it's all fixable, but it's a cost time benefit.

Have you checked all the poorly designed factory body mounts yet? And the rear valance below the sill? I've seen replacement panels for the rear corners. I do some more prodding on that roof & the rest of the body to make sure of no more suprises. I'd say get it & put another :pig: back on the road :steer:

Here's a bunch more photos. It needs the cobwebs blown out of it but that's the least of my worries. The rockers look good though and the undercarriage looks fairly rust free.

and one more down in the rear left corner: P1020497 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Not sure what I am looking at here?

If that is your huckleberry - go for it. Find a parts Pig with a roof and git r' done!
I do like the fact that it already has the 60 series PS added!

thats the nicest rust bucket i'v see to date. you need a really good metal shop if you cant do it yourself.

The odometer says ~29K At first I assumed that meant 129K but after inspecting the undercarriage & seeing how neglected it is I'm thinking it might only have 29k on it. Been in Socal its whole life too.
