hey folks, who has an LED light bar, whether flat or curved, and how loud is it, wind-wise when driving near or greater than highway speeds??? Thanks!!!

Pair of flats in the lower bumper valence, never hear 'em....
Got them wired to the high beam switch, heh heh!

Loud to the point that I can more than a 100 hours of work Mostly pointing, welding, making brackets..

starting from Zero.

To freaking high.

Five inches lower still to Loud..

Next rack about 2 inches fro the surfaces with vortex generators, low suction zones, servos linkages, every trick I know..

Measuring the roof to follow the contour as close as possible(No GPAS For air under the plaftform too.
Polar bear roof is so Kaddywumpus.. - ricardo kuhn (patineto)

Will see..
80-20, very malleable, adjustable and ultra rigid too..

Still optimizing how wide I need to cut the diagonal members..

Super loud, but it doesn't help that I have 4 lights up there instead of one bar, and that I have the sunroof open unless it's raining or cold.

I shut the sunroof when it makes me crazy, but normally I only notice the noise on the highway, and even then I normally crank my music so loud I drown it out.

The lights are just the obvious, the protuberance, but any bump on the top of the truck (even the Angle from the windscreen, even the space in between the ground and the bottom of the cars, plays a factor..

For example I have sufficient 80-20 material to install 25 cross members, I'm trying for seven, hopefully even six (The least amount to keep it stable with out deforming and flexing) the rest will all be longitudinal to the car (Path of travel) that way the turbulence is minimize...

Now is not like shoe boxes had great aerodynamics but is a few tricks that can help..

On second thought, you should ask the guys in the 150 series section and see what those guys are running.

Or search on t4R.org

Ya thanks for the help guys, cuz ya, I'm determining whether getting a rooftop LED bar on a Gobi is worth the noise factor of it. Because I drive with my windows always down.

I think the majority of the noise comes from under it...I'm trying to design a fairing now with a tight ass fit...most problem is a 25-30 mph...more of a slight whistling

42" curved Aurora light bar ...... No noticeable noise but then again I'm old and probably can't hear that well anymore.

Try putting some rubber tubing on the fins not everyone start with a couple. Just slit down the middle and wrap the back of the fin a bit.

got any pics Varty?

I had a 22" curved bar on the front of my last car. it would start a low pitched whistle around 45, and by 60 it was a loud high pitched whistle, enough to be annoying.

I also got a lot of radio frequency interference through the stereo

Should get some of the isolators on the power cord of the light bar. Amazon should have them, and a lot of other places as well.

I have a 50" bar straight across the entire top of my windshield on the Tundra and it has some significant wind noise on the highway. No whistle, but it does add to the highway drone. You can definitely hold a conversation over it, it just doesn't go unnoticed. I mounted it about even with the height of the roof

after several cheap bars that were from loud to not too bad I've run baja designs on my last 3 rigs and they seem to really be quiet but it also could be how they sit in the rack
