How atuned are you with how your 100 drives ?

I feel like I can sense that my LX470 runs smoother some mornings, and slightly less so other mornings. Not a big difference, just a small sensation.

Ditto with our Isuzu Trooper but our Camry seems to always feel the same. My Isuzu Trooper burns a little oil and I can hear a different engine sound when it is low on oil.

Is this my imagination or do others here sense this too?

I do feel the same, some days run better than others. The difference is minimal.
You're not alone, I and my imaginary friend are with you.

Same here... some days it's smooth and quiet and other's it' a little rougher. But it's very minor. Probably just my attitude and how much the kids are fussing.

Mine is the same way, I think it has to do with temperature and humidity in my case. On a cool, crisp morning that Borla humms and the throttle response seems snappy. But in the heat of the humid-ass summer here it seems sluggish and blah...

Mine tried to eat me while I was changing the Heater T's. We're getting along better now.

Sounds like time for new hood struts?

I just got my current on but I'm learning her. On my '85 300D, I can feel everything the car is feeling on any particular day. Sometimes she's lazy, or tired, or full of energy. There's quite a disparity and a lot of character. My GF still hasn't figured out how to catch on to when I need silence to listen for noises without hearing "sshh shhhh sh".

I’m with you @cwmoser. I though I was the only one, but nice to know I’m not alone. Very subtle differences, but noticeable. Mostly smooth, but varying degrees depending on the outside temp. Mine seems slightly smoother on my morning commute (20 miles) than my evening drive — hell if I know. Mines a stock 04, service up to date.

Is the issue with the one you bought with 24k miles? Maybe you're just being paranoid.

Barometric pressure and temps... I can feel the difference. My 100 is a hot-rod at 50* F with low humidity. :bounce:

Yes. You might be right. I guess I am wanting her to run perfectly ... but I do feel I can sense a difference in power and smoothness. Thinking also that maybe it could be tires and variations in the road surface. Currently now have 45K miles - wearing her out fast :)

I too have Mercedes - two of them 1983 and 1986 and those I can sense differences in driveability from day to day - especially with my 1986 560SL which I think is mainly tires, shocks, and body mounts.

I'm pretty in-touch with my cars in general. Tend to listen to nature and had noise just as often as I have music on and on another vehicle I own I once heard a slight metallic tinging sound, after pulling over to investigate twice I finally found that the alternator bracket bolt was coming loose. lol
