Norcal, not on fire but it was darn close.
All kinds of weird tubes and hoses are totally coming off my FJ60.
I find a few every month now.

1. They shrank and replace?
2. Hose clamps?
3. Cut ends and reset?
6 Eat a bowl of spaghetti?

The hose on my Dizzy came off and my oil sending unit went down, pulled over and wheew, found the hose.

On a long enough hose, cut off the last 5/8" and put the hose back on. Replace others. Use a clamp where needed. Attributed to the U.S. Marines: Improvise, adapt, and overcome.

I just finished a complete replacement of all belts/hoses under my 60's hood. It was not fun at time dealing with the finding all replacement parts, but thankfully GATES and TOYOTA OEM have excellent quality available. It cost me probably more in time than anything else. But this cruiser sat for 4 years. I'd rather have peace of mind knowing I have replaced everything, flushed cooling system, and not relying on cracked, swollen hoses with rusty clamps. I bought and replaced OEM Toyota 2 ring clamps, and when I ran out used some standard clamps from ACE hardware--did not feel like waiting for delivery..

My mom was one of those lazy old back woods amateur fix-it people... I first ever saw her add black pepper to a radiator when I was a kid....

Post a picture of what's under the hood so we can see what you're dealing with here.
30 year old rubber. If you had to wear a rubber for 30 years, it would degrade on you as well.

Black pepper will get you home! It does work for small leaks...for a while.
