In the last couple of days I've ordered the following
New front U bolts extended 20mm
4 degree caster wedges
New front springs

So I've decided to lift it right up 2 inch lifted springs with extended shackles front and rear and 4 degree caster wedges, hope it looks as good as I'm thinking it will

Hi Mate , did find out already what is wrong with your alternator , I have the same problem mine is not even charging at all , since I finish my build and I been driving my 97fj80 with 12ht engine 5speed in it , I love this thing but little I know my alternator not charging so I took my alternator to the rebuilt shop and they hook it to the machine to test and it cranking at 17.5 volts , they told me it must be my voltage regulator but the 97fj80 voltage regulator is inside the alternator of the Petrol Engine and the 12ht alternator it has no voltage regulator inside , I'm not sure and tired of charging my battery everyday.

Nah I've tested it and it only happens at start up and then it charges fine, it could be on the way out, but my mechanic says it's fine to do that, a big plus for me though is I have s***loads of wrecked 2H alternators should mine die

Lucky you have all that Diesel access in the world , Well I learn today that the 12ht has a two type of alternator, one with and without voltage regulator built in and the one I have is not , so I decided today to reuse my petrol alternator and fab a custom bracket on the right side of the Engine and dual belt tensioner to use for my second alternator .

Well now that I'm just about finished playing with this one, NOT SELLING, just gotta do the suspension when I get back.

I think I might start another 60's project with my other 12HT.

The body is fxxxed on this one, so I think I might do a body swap, I've got access to a bright orange shell out here at the block with minimal to no rust.

What do you guys think

I think you've obviously got way too much free time! Also do it.
Yeah I tend to agree, having this motor sitting there doing nothing is starting to bug me

Maybe you can fix it and weld a bit and use it to offroad? or sell and ship them to other countries?
My hj is laid up as I stopped paying roadtax (policy change: from 0 to 2600 euro a year) and I now notice how much time I used to keep it driving.
Sold the veggy oil stuff, throwing away old parts, selling the rest :skull:

Well finally arrived back in the land of Aus and picked up all my suspension parts from the post office, so might make a start on that this weekend.

I was hoping my catch can would also be here, but the post office can't remember where they put it, so hopefully on Monday I'll have that as well

Had a good day today, everything went right the first time :D

Fitted the rear extended shackles, the old shackles came off very easy and fitted the new ones which lifted the truck about 2 inches :grinpimp:

Fitted the new front springs and the extended shackles and that also lifted the truck another 2 inches, so all sits perfectly level now :D Also fitted the 4 degree caster wedges.

Haven't driven it yet, so hope it drives ok.

Also fitted my Momo steering wheel, looks awesome

Hey sorry guys, didn't think to take any of the suspension, here's a couple of pics of the additions

Thanks mate

I've just started cutting the paint back on the front two panels, you can't see it in the photos but I've still got glue on the sides from the 25 year old decals, finally I think I may have finally beat it and the polish is slowly bringing the glue off.
