To bring a diesel into CA from out of the country you have to register them in another state first. No way around it. but once here, they're smog excempt.

Does the other state need to issue a title for the vehicle or only a registration in order to bring it to California?

I live in Maine. Maine doesn't issue titles for vehicles over 15 years old. There may be other states like that as well. If you have a relative or friend that lives in one of these places they might be able to register it for you. I've done that once for a friend in MA for this exact issue.

List of all troopies on the registry is on the first page

Bump to get the attention of all the new troopy owners in the US.

thought I had a cruiser addiction. Nice work. Lets see some pics.

I'm not actually an addict; I'm just really focussed:)

SeatleMobile and tkorade - your two troopies are sisters - they went down the assembly line one right after the other. If one of you is ever in the other's state (NH and Al), I would LOVE to get a photo of the two of your rigs parked together end-to-end.

The fact that I am asking this may risk my rendering my first sentence seem like a load of rubbish, but it is likely that the last time those two rigs would have been together would have been either on the assembly line at Arakawa in Japan or on the boat going to the land of Big Brother; now they are both in the US. There has to be some sort of alternative movie for people who are Cruiser-focussed there.:hhmm:

G883627? Is that an import VIN? Where is that rig from? I'm not sure where to put it.

Thanks for the info, you are on the Registry!

Hola!
I am new here guys.....LOVE this site. I have a 1985...YES..1985 HJ47.
HJ47-027922 LHD Diesel w/air. Sand Dune Beige. I bought here where I live in Sambo Creek, Honduras. Looking forward to your guidance for maintenance and restoration tips. she's an unrestored survivor....some rust underneath....everything works. She was stored in a helicopter hangar in El Progresso for 17+ years. Oil change and new diesel....fired right up. Runs excellent.
Peace,

I love that rig 1forest1n! This is only a list for North American Cruisers, but I would be very happy to arrange for your vehicle to move to America where it will be loved and cared for like you obviously have loved and cared for it.:D

Where in Melbs do you live? My father-in-law lives in Melbs and we are there pretty regularly. I'd love to meet up for a beer one day and check out that rig.

The outlaws live right near the MCG. My wife will be there in a few weeks, but I will probably not make it there until next footy season (unless I get the call at Virgin Blue...). I'll keep you posted though as I really want to see that rig!
