How can I find Kevin's bed at? How much it cost?
Can you provide info. to Kevin's bed?
Thanks,

Charly

G'day Charly,

Have a look at the signature on Kevin's (Awl_TEQ) posts. The red writing which says 'See my bed prices here' (or something like that) can be clicked on, and it will take you to his thread.

Cheers,

Josh

I'm way behind in my correspondence and posting to the classifieds, but I do have an original HJ47/FJ45 long bed in very good condition that I am planning to sell. I do not have the gate, but I have the full bed. I will also soon have an Australian HJ47 aluminum drop side utilty bed as well. PM me if you have an interest.

I would be honored if you would add my HJ47 to the registry. 1983 Utility Tray Back. Originally sold in Brisbane, brought through Canada to the US and quickly moved to the USVI in 2006. It hs been in the USVI for the last 3 years, now in Florida. VIN: 27804.

Original 2H engine, RHD, very good overall condition. As mentioned in the previous post, I will be selling an original pickup bed, and the current tray back as I engineer a custom back end. My thanks to those on Mud that helped me through my purchase process and answered questions, especially hltopper.

As soon as you put that bed in the 45 classifieds forum, I'm sure it will be gone.

Why Aussies should send all their troopies to America

Hello All,

Here is a photo of a very clean 1984 HJ47 here in Adelaide with factory air con which died an early death last week.

This ia a real photo; it is not photo-shopped. This guy was 10' in the air, came down and rolled. He was alright, but the troopy was toast.

Cheers,

Josh

1983 HJ47 Troopy - Proposition Joe AKA the Cameldog on his maiden voyage to Yosemite.

8 college kids in the back and going strong!

Thanks Scrappy and Flatland, you are both on the registry.

Scrappy: are you leaving that Troopy in the US (please) when you leave, or bringing it back to South Africa with you? It looks like it is in really good nick.

Shouldn't be too hard to register in California, given it is a diesel.

Cheers,

Josh

HJ and GC'r,

I've done a little digging here and basic google search but can't seem to find much on the Arkarna name. Can you guys give me a little more information. I'm super curious now. Thanks, hopefully not a totally stupid question.

Complete Registry List is on the First Page of This Thread.

HJ and GC'r,

Yours is definitely an '83 from the VIN. Have a look on the first page for the full list of the registry to see where yours fits in.

Arkana was a company in Western Australia which made custom vehicles. They made many conversion for the mines, and for ambulance and fire service. They also did private conversions, and apparently made troopies out of pickups before Toyota even thought of the troopy. They seem to do really nice work. I think Clint79 said that they are out of business now, but I am not positive.

Yours is probably the nicest four door I've seen pictures of. They are generally pretty hammered. There is another just like yours on Mud in LA, except it is plain-jane white. He has a long thread about his rebuild, where he put a 12HT into it. I don't think he is on the Registry though.

Stainless40/45 on Mud knows a lot about Arkana, perhaps he will chime in....James?

Ok if you insist i will bow to the HJ47 god. We had our first snow in the cascades last night. They
got 18" at about 4000'. Pretty cool it seems pretty early to be getting that much so soon. You just
keep looking for a 83+ 40's

Adios

Jim

I never posted a profile shot of my rig, but now you get to see the transition process from a drop side bed to a style side. H55 transmission swap taking place now, and it kills me to have it in the shop because it is just too darn fun to drive. I'll plan to put up a build thread soon. (BTW, my alum utilty bed is posted for sale in the classifieds if anyone has an interest.)
