G'Day! Here's mine for the list - 1983 HJ47 VIN HJ47037651 from OZ, RHD, 2H diesel, PS, discs up front. Fitted OME suspension, BFG TA KOs, white spokes. Check out the website for more info. Cheers!

You're on the list, thanks. Are you certain your rig is an 83? From the VIN, I would guess it was an 84.

Great web site, thanks for the link!!

Year of troopy

Josh -
Typo - changed it on my profile too! Can you tell by the VIN what month the manufacture was? I'm thinking it was a late year, but I'm not sure.

Cheers - Jeff

Josh - Looks like the Troopy was manufactured in September of 1984 - I'm guessing he was sold either late '84 or in '85 in OZ. Great reference and info. Thanks and Happy Turkey Day!

PS - I've added the link on the www.travelswithtroopy.com website.

Hello there! Looking for a HJ47 LHD if any of you Troopy owners are looking for a new home for yours! My restored BJ42 needs a big brother...

Need heater and all assoc. parts...its snowing as im typing this.

Tanka. Search the site for "heaters" and get up with shane. I forget his screen name but he restores the heater box. I turned mine into him for a core so I know he has a RHD box. He did an amazing job on these and like he said "it will run you out of the cab" with heat. Mine performed perfectly all winter!!

Good luck and congrats. shoot us some pictures

You're in Tanka, thanks. You could also try BuckRoseau, as he has the RHD heater out of his 84 HJ47 which is becoming a LHD HJ47.

I also have one sitting in my garage in Australia if you really need one, but t would cost a small fortune to ship.

Cheers,

Josh

i suppose you can change the registry for HJ47 002008 from Anonymous 80 to me as the new owner

Key: COLOR CODE: White = Troopy, Red = Pickup, Yellow = Mid Wheel Base van. () = Country of origin in international two letter code. [] = state/province where currently registered. P/S= power steering, Air= Air Con, H55F= 5 Speed, OD= Over Drive, T/C = Turbo Charged, V8 = V8 gasoline engine, PopTop = pop top camper.

Even thought the Troopy is on the hull of the JPO Scorpio somewhere near New Zealand I will sign the registry. She is expected to land in Long Beach on 25 Mar.

Hope I got this right.....

FJ45-284527. FlyNdrive FJ-45 Troopy RHD [AU] (MD) Air, 4 Speed, 3F (3F513378) petrol, 20 L reserve tank.

I'm still trying to find out what the hell happened to the engine. An F2 came in the FJ 45, but the engine code is 3F. If anyone has any insight please post up here.

Cheers,

-Ben

so, are there really only about 80 troopys in the North America? I guess our sample size is only from those that frequent this forum, how many more could there be?

hey man
i just bought one of these with a 302 conversion for 2 grand. original professional conversion to a four door with the ute tray. What are they worth , seemed a bit cheap I thought

Recieved a "Heater Kit". The top of the housing for the motor/blower was busted off (cracked off by motor mount screws). Not broken from shipping, someone put int the box that way and shipped it to me. Will never order from that company again.

I have seen Shanes heater on Ebay, Looks brand new (nice work). Thanks for the info. I may get in touch with him on questions for rebuilding what I have now.
