Here is some correspondence from Candlepowerinc.com:
Greetings, Mr. Mcreynolds.
Volume discounts apply to single-shipment orders. If each person orders direct, I'm afraid we cannot offer a volume discount. However, we realize that organizing a group buy takes effort and coordination, and that the volume discount may not be worth your time consumed in shipping everyone's bulbs to them individually. We're prepared to meet you in the middle: For a minimum bulb count of 36, any mix of 9011 and 9012, shipped in any split-up of quantity to any number of addresses, the per-bulb price will drop from $39 to $34.50 (rounded). Shipping charges will apply, but be advised we charge the actual cost of shipping - there are no "handling" fees. (Handling bulbs is our job!). The group buy will have a 2-week deadline from starting date, and individual purchasers are welcome to add other types of bulbs (besides 9011 and 9012) to their individual orders. Are these all owners of a particular kind(s) of vehicle? If you'll let me know what's being worked on, I can make some suggestions.
Best regards,
Daniel J. Stern

> have been buying the GE HIR2 bulbs from John Deere for $25-28 each.
Yes indeed. Note that this will not last because (a) GE has recently stopped production of HIR2, and (b) When people use a light meter to compare the Harrison-Toshiba HIR2 against the GE, I suspect they'll understand why the HT bulb costs more.
It looks like there may be enough people on the group in order to meet the 36 bulb limit, would there be interest in purchasing them this way as a group purchase? This would also allow 1) for people to pay with their credit cards, 2) for me not to worry about holding stock if someone changes their mind, and 3) additional people to order if they want during the 2 week window. Under this method it would cost about $74 for two bulbs, instead of $70, or $143 for four bulbs instead of $140.
