Exactly. I actually just did this over the weekend in order to replace all of my gauge bulbs along with D light bulb (and the other 9 bulbs).
It’s pretty easy after you remove the dash parts. It’s just 4 screws and 4 wiring plugs, then wiggle out gently. Also a good time to replace your dash bezel while you’re in there.

Little update on this....

Finally got around to doing it earlier today

I guess the 97's are different cause the only bulb that had the green condom was the one on top

The rest are all clear bulbs

That being said, I ordered two different sizes and none of them were correct, so I ended up swapping the "L" bulb for now

I need to replace the "D" light bulb. Did you ever get the right oem one? Wonder if the one below is correct. I'll check with the dealership if you didn't. Thanks.

I swapped the A/T light indicator to D and it works now. Probably wont need the A/T since I used a Gm Tran. On my ls swap. One of the brittle clips broke.. was careful and still snapped it.

You took the bulb from the A/T P warning light? I think that one warns you if your transfer case is in neutral, meaning your automatic transmission won’t hold the vehicle in place. I’d keep it functional if possible.

oh. That is good to know... They are inexpensive.. I ordered four for PRND. Thanks for the info guys.

Taking this apart is not hard, but take your time. Those little tabs and such are brittle after all these years. I've been in there a few times and I'm willing to live without the D light now because I don't feel like going back in. YMMV.

I need to take mine apart now and inspect the trip meter, mine stopped working mid trip last month. While I have it apart I'll likely replace all lights. Considering just buying another cluster to take the odometer/trip meter from though. Because I've read a couple of places that taking it all apart can be challenging, and if I can get one close enough to mine but over I'll just drive it until I hit that mileage and swap them. :hillbilly:

I ordered 4 of these.. I'll pick and install next week.. I'll let you know.. I believe you have to take off the green condom" haha off.
Maybe I missed it — but I don’t see the correct bulb part number confirmed in this thread anywhere.

Can anyone confirm this one is correct?

The “D” in the transmission indicator on the dash is

90072-02006

The part numbers incorrect.. they are for the main illumination for the dash (speedometer, rpm..). And not for the gears. Notice the difference in sizes

I literally did this project yesterday and these are the correct numbers (see below). You could use 90072-02006 for all of them and just pull off the green condom. That's the only difference is that 2006 has the green condoms.

What's the count of each bulb type? I need to reverse my PO-installed LEDs, and I would like to order correct quantities the first time and avoid taking it all apart twice because I ordered wrong.

9 x 90072-02005
1 x 90072-02006

They were roughly $3 each from my local dealer.
