An MSRP of $119.99 might seem like a lot of money, and these days it is. Offering a high quality product at a fare price is a delicate balance. There’s a lot of ways to cut costs and save money today. Sourcing out production to other countries and using inferior parts and materials is the easy solution. I chose not to go that route. I wanted to build something that would stand out from the rest, in every aspect. I spent a lot of time developing this product; I used the best materials and produced it here in the USA. This was extremely important to me and I know that when you get my mounting system you will not be disappointed. I guarantee it! My Dad used to say “you get what you pay for” Who hasn’t bought something you thought was a great deal and really got junk. “Cheaper isn’t always better… it’s just cheaper”- He said that too.

…Also, The guys over Classic Cruisers are offering an introductory sale on the fjMount. They also offer a discount for TLCA members.

For those of you that have seen past the suggested price, and ordered the fjMount kit,
I’d like to say thank you! I know you will love it!

Very nice!

Any idea why they are preferred on the passenger side?

Passenger side = driver side for me! I would assume people put it on that side for a few reasons.

One would be to avoid a snorkle on a F series or H series engine. Another would be wind noise from having the thing mounted right in front of you if it was on the driver's side.

I want to put mine on the left side for these reasons as I am on the right side and my air intake and snorkle are on the right...

somebody has to say it ~ $120 WOW!!!

wow
$120 for a bracket to hold on a $75 jack seems excessive even if it is top of the line. I mean really that is excessive and some one has to say so. I am not looking for a cheap part that will rattle and bang my jack against the side of my truck, but it is hard for me to justify that kind of money for simply a bracket - and that is what it is.

I guess I will go back to the drawing board and work on converting an old shackle in to a bracket. Until then my jack will live happily on the inside of my 40 where it is nice and dry and it gets tripped over by my German Wirehaired Pointer.

Teeth to the wind,
Sno Dawg

Then again I think the Land Cruiser Icons are way overpriced.

I went with Kay Mar's roof rack mount, it has a mount for a shovel in it also(for those times when the j**p you are pulling out is really stuck).
very pleased with it

Hey Ruger
that made me laugh

nice looking rig - my favorite color - nice to see a 40 being used.

I don't have a top on mine now but I like how your roof rack is set up.

Is there a provision to lock the jack? Won't do me any good to leave the jack at home because of thieves.

While not elegant, a pistol cable lock ($5 at any walmart or free with any pistol) works excellent as a Hi-Lift lock. Run it through the i-beam slot and then through the bracket.

More or less, will keep honest people honest.

really....?? :eek::eek:

I hate to rain on anyone's parade.......and maybe I'll be proven wrong, but this does seem like a lot - especially when you consider the cost of the jack itself.

I have seen alot of mounting brackets that cost more than the tool it holds, however, so I may eat crow on this.

From your pic, though, it looks like only one piece is fabricated - the rest can be purchased in bulk for very little.

Again, I don't want to be a naysayer and, in the end, the consumer will dictate whether this product sinks or swims. I say "Godspeed" but be ready to adjust your price to meet the market somewhere down the road.

As for that FJMount, it is what the market will bear. If he sells them for that much then it must be worth it to enough people to keep making them, and lucky this is an open market and for those who do not have that type of money for a holder we do not have to buy them. It does look like top quality and for the money a lot of people put into these rigs it is a drop in a very large bucket.

Not a bad idea...cheap insurance anyway

I think that a design that incorporates a bolt (the same size as your Lug nuts) would work as well as anything. 99 percent of the time that you will need your hi lift jack...you will have a lug wrench in your hand anyway. Most thieves are not going to go the effort if the Jack is secured with a bolt (IMHO).

Our design will incorporate the ability to lock the jack as well for those who have more intense thieves.;)

What do you guys think of incorporating a footing on the running board as well?

Well said....it appears to be very nice workmanship.

I lopped off a few inches of angle iron, butt welded it in a "Z" shape, drilled some holes and mounted to existing windshield hinge, found a bolt, wing nut and a lock and Shabamm! I had a jack bracket. Oh, I did have to drill a hole in my running board for the jack bottom. Plenty strong, and plenty cheap, but that's just me.

I like that simple attachment. If I were going to copy that, and I just might, I would make sure a lug nut would fit the bolt and secure the bolt with a spare tire lock, about $10. Southern ingenuity!

In hindsight yeah, a lug nut would have been better. Think this bolt is a 14mm. Was just the closest thing to fitting snug in my tube.
