SILVER Star
Just wanted to throw this out there - a cheap, easy to find option for jacks. This is a bottle jack out of a full sized GM truck: Tahoe/ Pickup etc. The wrecking yards almost give them away and it's a solid jack, hight capacity with good range of lift.
This is for my '72 so I wanted to place it in the tool box under the seat, utilizing the existing nuts.
I used some 3x1/8" strap I had laying around along with some 1.75" tubing which happen to fit the head of the jack perfectly.
I don't have a good press so I notched the metal with a cut-off wheel, just enough to allow me a straight, clean bend. Afterwards, I welded over the seam
