Hello, I have a 4 speed bell housing with the holes for my clutch master cylinder on the right side that I am trying to mount into my 40 series. I suspect that I have mounted a later bell housing on to my 40. Is there a way to make this work with the existing frame brackets without buying a new bell housing?

what year 40 series? Are you trying to use the original frame brackets? If so, you can drill and tap yours. Or, I can trade you for the correct version for you if you pay shipping both ways.

Thank you very much, that is very generous. There was no hole for the clutch fork bolt on the left so I drilled one and tapped the threads for the bell housing support. Always an adventure…..
