I'll post a pic of my Hi-Lift with Slee's stock roof rack mounts. Just wating for Brentbba's package to get here. :D:D

:D All boxed up. Was out of town this weekend on a scout trip and it's crazy busy at work between month end and a huge finance system conversion. Will do my best.

If you don't have a aftermarket roof rack this setup isn't a bad option. I like it quite a bit. I'm using a set of the old Slee factory roofrack brackets. I plan on adding a custom bracket to my rear bumper but until then, this works just fine.

Cool pic Rocket! Wheres that at?

60" will not fit. When I wheel I take my 2nd row seats out and bolt down an add'l storage unit on one side and flat extension on the other. Both extend to the backs of the front seats. This leaves a great place in the 2nd row footwell. 60" jack is too long to fit under there.

Try THIS at Home . . . .

I picked up a JackGuard soon after they hit the market. Can't speak about long-term, or short-term, usage, as it's been standing on end against the garage wall ever since. Notice indents for storing tools in end cap!

Does a bang-up job of preventing dust/dirt/spider webs from gunking up a HighLift tho . . . :grinpimp:

There is still a slight rattle -> seems like Energy Suspension has come out with a urethane gadget to snap the handle in place (& reduce rattles?).

I bought this setup (bumper and winch) off Steve so.. different jack ( shorter ) but I still use this mount for trail runs. Gets great comments from other wheelers btw.

also, Steve, the winch now has two heavy pulls under it's belt. Both to recover a friends rig. I'll PM ya the details.

Until I build a rear bumper this is it:hillbilly:

i bucked up and paid the $85 for mounting hardware that attaches to my load warrior. does the job, and easy access.

but if its just a day trip, i've got it in the cargo area, at the trailing edge near the tailgate between the rear tail lamps. secured with bungee cords or ratchet straps on the corner tie downs...

one day i'll have one of those fancy rear bumpers that carry a spare & hi-lift.

Curious for the people who’ve mounted their hi-lift on the front bumper. Does it bother you having to look at the Hi-lift on the road and on the trail? It seems like it would interfere with your field of view. It would be even worse on the trail, where you really trying to judge distances and pick your lines. Maybe it’s a non-issue, don’t know, thanks.

My questions is are you fellas drivin on the high way with them mounted like this? and if so do you have any concerns regarding high speed accidents? are you just bolting them there or do you have welded mounts?

thanks

I can either carry it on the Hanna rear bumper or I have two pieces of bent flat stock that I bolt the jack to and then bolted to front supports for the middle row seat. It just fits accross the second row footwell and yes, it is the 60" variety.

With the 4Runner and the Hi Lift on the TJM, I really don't notice it anymore. It hasn't also been an issue on the trails too. I have it bolted to the bumper with 1/2 inch bolts and mounts. I'll see if I can dig up a closer pic.

I guess with an accident with it bolted up front it could fly off. However I'm not sure what is worse, it possibly flying off the front bumper or having a Hi Lift launch forward from a rear bumper or from inside the rear cab or storage area and impacting with the driver and/or passengers.

If you could please post up a picture of this. I thought the 60" would not fit inside accross the second row footwell.

Thanks, Tare

It will have to be this weekend. Sorry for the delay.

If you use a 3rd row, it fits perfectly on the floor behind the 3rd row.
