I have a 1976 FJ40 that I got a couple years ago. I work on it myself and I have been fixing and enhancing the truck. I have definitely ended up in these forums a few times learning how to do certain things. I figured I should register an account.

most people put the jack on the pass side... drivers side is usually clear in order to view rocks and such when off road getting a line on where your tires are... and doesn't the jack hit your door when open?

Yeah, I also imagined I would out it on the passenger side. But I bought the mount from an Aussie, and turns out it was oriented to work on one side. It ended up working just fine, so I went with it.
It doesn’t hit the door as long as the jack is fully lowered. I happened to take that shot when test mounting it.
