Where's the cheapest place to find one?

Madison fireplace is the cheapest place for a BGE. They were running a special for $699 but it might be over. KJ definitely comes with more of the stuff like stands and place setters.

I've been using this more days than not since buying it.

If color matters, the KJ only comes in red now. BGE is green, of course. The Primo comes in black, and is the cheapest, but the quality just didn't seem to be there to me.

The KJ does come with everything you need to have a functioning kamado. If you are going to stick it in a table right off the bat, the BGE might be the way to go.

I guess I am the only one here not in to pottery.

The efficiency of the things and good coals amazing. Hell I have a 14lb brisket going on tomorrow night got some family coming in Friday. No need for 2 grills.

$550 for a medium. I thought about getting medium but glad I got the large. Sometimes I wish I had the XL. Go to Madison Fireplace and check out the different sizes to see what will work for you. They even have a XXL...although it is $4k with stand and accessories.

Hey Braswell. You are a hard headed redneck

absolutely!

They are very nice (just like to give ya'll a hard time). But if you want to cook some rib racks and sausage with that brisket, ya gonna need another cooker. I did two shoulders and a 9lb flat the other night. About 29lbs of meat on at one time and still had room from more.

Ceramic grill's is to smokers as a spin casting reel is to fishing.

I don't know if that's a Bill Dance quote or what...

Almost all of the pros in TX still cook on a smoker... they may do small stuff on the ceramic but,
Log burners are always going to put out more smoke and more flavor over any type of grill.
And tending a wood burning fire pit is as relaxing as Tolleson makes it out to be.

Did you get the 18 or 24"?

The nice thing to about a kamato style grille is if smoking you don't have to "tend it". After JttmfT lead me to the bbq guru IQ system it is light fire put meat on open the grille 12 hours later
