nope I let it soak in....and it will burn off next time I fire it up. My stones are full of drippings but if you let it rip they turn right back white.

I have gone that high before and I liked the one I pulled off last weekend at 190. She is off and now resting in foil and towels.

Also Cam I let it burn off for about 20 min to see what it would do and it got to 500+ real fast and opened it up and looked like a bomb so I shut it down due to were the grill is. I don't want my whole house on fire.

I did filets with a reverse sear using a cast iron skillet. Damn they were good. Cooked at 300 degrees until 120 internal. Took off and opened wide open. I put them on when the skillet hit 600 for 90 sec each side. Then rest.

I also took everyone's advice and went with this heat gun from harbor freight instead of the looflighter.

Can't beat it for $15. It cut the light time in half easily and was $70 cheaper.

Got a lil' coal roll on myself. I threw some cherry chunks on the hot coals right before I put on the heat deflector & pizza stone.

This is a steak, goat/mozz/cheddar, red pepper, green onion pizza on a flour tortilla. I put some butter & kosher salt on the bottom to get it crisp, tasty, and prevent burning.
