In light of good companionship and generosity you have shown me (and light of Cam's new grill purchase), I am going to share a little cooking goodness with the CLC gang:

You must first know the Backstory:

The only other website I frequent besides this one is fishing related (drakemag.com). I must say that you guys are much more welcoming than those guys are. If you try to post on their board without a proper introduction (that includes certain requirements, such as pics of ginger boobs and home-made pie, among others), they will run you out of there. It's basically an internet biker gang (totally opposite of what most people think about fly fishing geezers in tweed jackets). Sort of gay, but also sort of funny and it keeps the lurkers and idiots away.

So, this one guy (with his first post) tried to sell a fly rod on their classifieds section. The first response he got was: "F**K off." So, why I am telling you this and posting it here: The regulars on that board proceeded to derail his thread and make it all about game and fish recipes. So, what follows after "f**k off" is 103 pages of some really fine game and fish recipes (it's basically a cook book tucked away in a dark corner of the internet). Feel free to browse, just don't try and communicate with those guys like you would here (unless you have some pics of Nolen's wife sans shirt)...

So, with that, I share with you the "Z Axis Recipes": Hope you stumble across something you like.

(it gets better in the later stages once the thread become purely recipe focused as opposed to newb bashing and chit chat). For example, the boudin stuff crawfish posted by a guy from Lafayette, LA (page 102) look awesome.

My Kamado Joe's maiden voyage...

The chops had a nice sear, but were cooked to the perfect new USDA approved temperature of 145*. The medium pork freaked out the wife, of course!

Congrats on the Kamado. Make sure you get a wireless thermometer. That is when you don't have to worry and just let it do its thing. I like my igrill mini.

After last night the Royal Oak is a winner in my book. It was fast to get going vs. KJ coal before. I was humming at 700 in less than 20 min or so. Steaks turned out great! I smoked last weekend with it and seemed to last longer also. I like getting it from charcoal store due to the bags have not been beat around. About 90% all large chunks. Way way more than other I have used.

I didn't read all 103 pages, but did anyone come up with photo-proven successful chowder bowl recipe that pries the pants off of prudish LLBean catalog girls?

Give me a shout if you run into any trouble.
