Has anyone found a Toyota dealer who will sell a set of 4 Heritage wheels to a non-Heritage LC owner?

I had one damaged by DT and they were paying for replacement. Toyota dealers are required to fill up a special form validating ownership of the HE. Local dealer required onsite visit. Online dealer asked for my vin number and verified me remotely. I assumed they compared my vin number to ownership name in the toyota system. I paid around $500 delivered for the wheel. Since I was buying just one wheel maybe the process was easier.

I had a pretty easy experience buying HE wheels with a google HE vin, no vin ownership verification whatsoever.
process may be different with different dealers. after reading so many post of vin verification ownership etc i was hesitant to order online but what's the worst could have happened , order won't go through and refund of invoice may be .
paid $460x4 + 150 shipping , order was processed same day , received these 2 day laters .
lug nuts/wheel caps are not included .

Funny, a friend at work last year tried order a Blacked Out TRD Pro Grill for his regular 4Runner. The dealership that sold him the truck would not sell him the grill. 3 other area dealerships told him no because his VIN showed it was not a TRD Pro. He had done it years before with his previous 4R. Seems to be the same with Heritage Rims.

Maybe Toyota doesn't want people slapping on rims/grill badges and trying to sell the truck as something it's not?
He eventually found on one online.

Between all of the other differences it would be pretty easy to determine whether something is a real Heritage or TRD Pro or whatever. More likely their calculations of how much extra stock to have for these parts all get thrown out of whack when people put full sets of them on non-applicable vehicles, and they don't want to be caught without inventory if a real Heritage owner needs the parts.

But I could definitely be wrong.

@Beno might have some insight..

If also devalues the “real” HE if lowly base LCs run them. :)

They’ve been equally ridiculous over things like rock warrior center caps…

Mind telling me who you went though online?

On an other note. If you look at the picture of the back of HE wheel, you will notice the deep dips. I want slightly wider stance without going on the line of fender (avoid chips / corrosion) and this give an opportunity of smaller spacers like 0.75"

Code cb10 , 10% off shipping .
Side track to this thread, but thanks for the code, it saved me a bit on shipping a pile of brake parts.

I believe the issue is the wheel stud. It isn't long enough to just use a spacer like you might on a sportscar, that slides over the studs. Most of the ones for the LC incorporate their own studs (check out Bora and Spidertrax for examples). Then you have the issue of trying a thinner spacer where the factory studs protrude further than the face of the spacer. If your rims have casting holes in the right places (some Toyota rims do), they might be okay with that. I think the 1" spacers are the thinnest I've seen personally. This is all a non-issue with a 1.25" spacer (I run the Spidertrax).

I did some math on my previous 20LC and seemed that you needed slightly more than an inch spacer for factory studs to be flash with spacer. With HE wheels having such a big dips HE wheels should accommodate studs extending beyond spacer. I need to take a look at my damaged HE wheel how deep are those dips.

my understanding is that if that dealer has the wheels in stock then they will just sale it by using a vin you gave , if they have to go and order it for you , toyota validation may be required, so it is important that you check their stock first before ordering online .

I've got 1" Bora spacers that I'll be putting on as soon as I return home from overseas in July. I'll make sure to take some pictures. But based on the pics above of the backside of the HE wheels, shouldn't have any issues clearing the OEM lugs.

Do I need new lugnuts and TPMS or will the ones from stock rims work for HE rims?
