Does anyone ever seen this type of leak on a 3FE off a FJ62? Valve cover gasket? Haven't started to dig in, but wanted to post this for some initial thoughts before I tear into it. Thanks

Looks like the oil galley plug blew out. Fix it or you'll lose all the oil leading to catastrophic engine damage.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm digging into posts now on how to replace it. From the initial take, it looks like I'll have to be real careful and may have to do some drilling and tapping if it's original. Thanks again.

Sure enough, I went out and looked. I wonder how it would have backed out. Looks like the threads are in good shape. Maybe I'll get lucky and will just be able to thread a new one back in. I'm not that lucky so expecting a job. Thanks again!

Looking and reading about it more closely. There's likely no threads on mine now and the plug just popped out. Folks go back and add a threaded plug to prevent this from happening again. Hey, I'm learning!

That's exactly what it is. Baaaaad news if it doesn't get fixed before driving it again.

To effect the repair, I drilled and tapped the casting hole on mine, then started the engine briefly to flush out the swarf. The oil came out of mine just like it did in your video!

I then cleaned the hole with brake cleaner and q-tips, and screwed in a threaded hex plug coated in JB Weld. No leaks! Do this right and correctly, as any future failure will blow the engine.

Godwin,
Tackled this fix yesterday and it all worked out thankfully. Drilling and tapping into a 36 year old block was a little scary. Thanks again for the quick diagnosis. Much appreciated!
