At this point you can go ahead and install the hub end snap rings.

Here it is installed.

Addressing the Cage

I decided I better pull the cage and do the upgrades I've been meaning to do. I've always been a little dissapointed with the welds on it and there's never been enough bracing.

Here's the cage

I ground down some of the welds I didn't like and ran back over them.

Of course I had to burn in the oh s*** handle it's always needed

I added in some more bracing at the back and just got started to fill in the top. Any suggestions for how to brace the middle and front legs of the cage? I want to triagulate it but it's going to make getting in and out a real pain?

I got my truck up on the jack stands today and started taking apart the front end. I had a three inch lift before that put my frame rails about 20" off of the ground. I set the truck up at about 26" for now. From what I've calculated that should be about ride height. I don't intend to turn this thread into a classified ad but if anyone needs any IFS parts pm me...it's all coming off. I'll try to get some pictures of the progress tomorrow, the batteries in the camera were dead.

Thanks, here's a picture of the progress so far. It's been hard finding time to work on it but it's coming along slowly.

Great build, enjoying this thread and the pics. Keep them coming.

Got a little more done today. I pulled the abs wires, radiator overflow, and windshield washer reservoir.

Got the diff pulled and ready to do some cutting

Here's the frame needing some grinding. I was too lazy to grind the rails today.

Does anyone know if pulling all of the ABS stuff and re-routing the brakes will cause any problems other than a warning light? My solid axle obviously doesn't have provisions for ABS and so I like to just get rid of all of it to tidy the engine bay. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm still waiting on some tube inserts before I can start making up some links so I started in on the rear.

I managed to get the axles out

Here's their replacements. If anyone knows how to get the ABS speed sensor rings off the old axles without a super long puller I'm all ears.

Thanks... Don't know if you remember... but had the time of my life with Tom racing you out of Pritchett Canyon. I don't know if the rest of the group had as much fun as we did?

Hey this is Tim; met you at Cruise Moab - "The Georgia Boys" in the white 80. We talked about SAS 4Runners at the campfire. Here's IPORs progress with mine. The Heepeter will be awesome!
