Went out of town for a month and when I returned, birds had created a nest under the hood of my 2006 LX and ate some of my wires in the process. Does anybody know what these three wiring harnesses are called so I can order replacements? Located on the driver side, right between the fender and the brake fluid reservoir. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

lol, new fear unlocked...

If I'm looking at this correctly, you may need WIRE, ENGINE ROOM, NO.2 , Part Number 82112-60552

I would 100% look at salvage yards, and try to repair this. Sadly, I'm not sure I'd want to repair something that controls the signal to your brake system, but $3,200 is steep.

I would de-pin the connector, wire in a section of the appropriate length to reach the remaining loom, and connect those wires to the loom via heatshrink/watertight crimp.

😬

Can’t see the link but if that’s a $3200 harness, then this is an insurance claim, assuming the OP has the right coverage.

However, if the other end of that bundle is still intact and accessible, then this is DIY repairable with a modest investment in professional crimpers, connectors, and the correct wiring. Those Delphi-type connectors are usually openable, and the pins inside can usually be replaced.

I’d take the opportunity to shield the bundle in a thick fabric wire loom, there must be something tasty in the insulation that is attracting critters.

Two thoughts. I also think that sourcing that section of harness from a part out/junk truck might be the easiest option. Second thought. I don't think that's a bird's nest, I think it's a rodent's nest, which is what chewed the wire. Pack rat, squirrel, something along those lines.

Agreed! That isn't from birds, its from mice or rats.

Damn pack rats....I think there was a post just like this recently and the person fixed it all, lemme try to dig it up

Jackpot...no idea what an 'upvote' is, but I just clicked it for your response lol

jeez, that would infuriate me to find... I wonder if those "bitter spray" products actually work and would be effective to like spray the wires and then apply an outer loom so it wouldn't wash off quickly...

I am amazed at how many people have had this issue. The wire insulation must be made with peanut butter or cheddar cheese extract. Does anyone have experience with the Honda rodent tape? $45 seems expensive but so does rewiring the brake booster.
