i just developed a leak in my rear metal brake line between the two wheels going across the rear axle, so i need to know the metal line size the fitting size/type and the flare type these lines have?

I think you'd be safe with any 10 MM Metric Brake line fitting. Remove it and
Take it to your local Parts store they should be able to match it up. I've had good luck at NAPA.

Fittings are Ø10mm x 1.0mm pitch.
I used Cu Ni brake line. It was easier to bend and work with than mild steel or stainless steel. Read up on my brake line swap here when I put in a 96 FZJ80 FF axle:

Cody,
Nothing to coat. The copper nickel alloy brake line is specifically used in winter climates to prevent corrosion compared to mild steel. The only other material I could see using would be the stainless line but cutting, flaring, and bending would be a monumental pain.

I did use stainless steel gravel guard over the brake line. They sell cheaper coated steel gravel guard but I didn't want rust forming on the gravel guard over the brake lines.

Keep in mind that there are two types of "Double flares" on metric brake lines. (I do not think that a single flare is really suitable for this application)

Inverted and Bubble. you want inverted double flare. Make sure you get the correct flare styles, they aren't really interchangeable.

@Mace,
I think I am running double flares in the rear at the moment. No issues to report and no leaks. Am I playing with fire here?!

see pic in my thread. Using a rigid flare tool to make double flares. Post #52.

Nope, those look great!

That is a inverted double flare. German cars typically use the Bubble flare.

Ah, I read your initial post above as bubble was good instead of the double. Thanks for the clarification. Good to know there are differences out there too.
