Exactly what I was thinking.... I am probably going to need a radiator at some point (not yet, thankfully)

Coolant loss is a hard one to catch in time.
The engine temp gauge does not help much either.
For additional peace of mind, I have done the following:
In my 100 series 1HD-FTE Cruiser I have the full Madman display unit fitted and it monitors EGT's, coolant temp and coolant level loss.
For my 200 Series 2UZ-FE Cruiser I only really wanted to monitor coolant level loss and did not want to fit the full Madman display unit, so I opted for the Madman CLD3 unit.
(I have no affiliation whatsoever with Madman, it's just a good product that works well)
I have installed it and am happy with the setup.
It tested 100% and the visible led button display and the audible beep will alert you early on to any coolant loss.
The buzzer I installed under the lower RHS panel and the LED display I fitted to a blank switch cover on the lower RHS. (US would be the LHS)
The level sensor I fitted to the top radiator hose as high up as possible, along with the 38 mm adapter.
The wiring I took through the RHS firewall grommet. (US would be the LHS)
The 12V power supply I picked up from the cigarette lighter wiring.
The engine bay wiring, I ran along with the engine wiring harness under the engine cover.
The 1/8" MPT blanking plug, I just drilled out and tapped to 5 mm, then fitted a 5mm S/Steel screw shank, with washer and nuts.

Had my lower/hot tee fail recently. Found the leak today. It’s been a bit, the coolant level is down a bit and the skids are cleaner than normal.
Had the dorman part already for long ago. It’s 16mm. The stock tee is 17mm. Probably why the dorman tees tend to leak.
Ordering the new hose set and will put those in when I receive them.
Lower tee disintegrated on removal, leaving parts in the hose. Upper tee looks fine still.

Ok, this may seem like a dumb question BUT....I have looked up the hose and tee assemblies per the part numbers on my local Toyota parts site and do both hose sets come under one number or ? According to the diagram shown, that's the way I see it. Mine is a 205,000 mile 2010 so I'm assuming (ya I know) that I need 87209-60C10. Thanks for the help. Mitch

I ordered 60C10 and 60C12. I am hopeful 60C00 is not required . . .
You ordered the same part twice
60C01 is one assembly (formerly 60C00)
60C10 is the second assembly for 2008-2010
60C11/12 superceded 60C10 and is for 2011+
I ordered from Partsouq and both assemblies came in factory packaging and matched perfectly with the originals. I did this job a few weeks back

Now ordered a C01 too. Guess the C12 will get returned.
Put screw clamps on at lunch, don’t think it’s leaking anymore with the metal tees. Still need a couple quarts of SLLC and time to make sure.

Ok.. lets just do a parts listing on these assemblies. These are the original part numbers. If you punch this in to a US-based parts system and it is replaced with something else, the new number superseded the old one but should still work on your rig.

i installed the mixed year parts and new clamps I ordered. A couple of the paint marks didn’t match up, functionally they look just fine.
No leaks during the around the neighborhood pleasure cruise.
Will watch it for a bit.

I lost less than 1 liter of coolant, but only replaced the two T-pieces, not the full T-piece and hose sets.
I tried to catch it today and got about 8 oz. I didn't get it all, maybe half. My guess is about 16 oz.

Your 2008 Heater T's, if original, show the material as PA66 GF30, which is a 30% glass fibre reinforced PA 66. Anybody know if the superseded parts are using a different material?

I think you have opened a very interesting can of worms...
Here's the info I have (all parts sourced from Toyota within the past two weeks):
87248-08030 (the T alone) : >PA66-GF30<
87209-60C12 (hose and T assembly 1) : >PA6T-GF35<
87209-60C01 (hose and T assembly 2) : >PA6T-GF35<
I'd be very interested in any insights you have about the different plastic used in the hose assemblies.
