Hello from Germany,
I saw this ad on Facebook.
Do any of you have experience with this header?

I just chatted with the seller via WhatsApp.
The price including shipping is actually okay, but I'm just concerned about the quality.
I definitely don't want to buy junk.

i second @brian 's suspicions Unless this supplier does a lot of 40 stuff...the facebook business can be sketchy. I don't think that header is AI generated but that plus shipping to germany....hmm.

That's a lot welding on those tubes - hope they were good welders. The end of the 6 into 1 opening would have been nicer if it had a least an inch of straight to work with.

I made custom stepped washers to work with the different thickness at the studs. Intake is like 1/4 and the header is like a half inch.

I know it gets cold in Germany, so I would add a liquid heat riser (under the intake, I made mine) and a manual choke

I think I won't buy this header and will look for another one.
I think it's fake because... I think his replies on WhatsApp came way too quickly.
And... how did he know so quickly what shipping costs to Germany would be???
I absolutely don't want to be fooled, so this header is out of the question for me.

What is on your motor now? Are you replacing a factory exhaust manifold? Replacing a rusted out header with a new one?

I'm currently in the process of overhauling my engine, including reworking the cylinder head. It's getting 12 new valve guides and 12 new hardened valve seats.

And when I put everything back together, I'd like a header instead of the original manifold.

And as I've discovered, there are two different versions. One version where the header runs directly down the engine. And another version where the header runs diagonally across the frame to the end of the fender...and I'd like this version that runs across the frame...but I want a good quality one.

If you have any suggestions for me, I'd be happy to accept them.

I was curious about your needs. I had the factory iron manifold but it was cracked, so I replaced it with a header. I never noticed much difference in performance but now the motor is noticeably less quiet. Just FYI.

That manifold in pic has ALOT of welds, not good, those welds are not TIG'd and I would be curious to see what the inside of tube looks like ?

That's a very good point, I agree.
But it doesn't really matter now anyway, because I definitely won't be using it.
But you're right, it would be interesting to see what all the welds look like from the inside...
