Chunky!! Just out of curiosity how big are the wrist pins on those?

Not ignoring you, just like @mudgudgeon though I won’t know compared to stock until I take the time to put them side by side. I don’t think these use a bigger wrist pin though than OEM, better not as they say nothing on the GTurbo website! FT/FTE is beefy though, as beefy as it comes for Toyota diesels in Cruisers. Similar to the 1FZ, overbuilt and takes well to mods. Seven main bearings with a girdle like a 1FZ only beefier. Bigger crank as well. Last of the in-line six diesels as well, 1H/H, 2H/12HT, 1HDT, 1HDFT, 1HDFTE. That’s what, 50yrs of the in-line six diesels?

Cheers

Just for fun and comparison, 1FZFE and 1HDFTE both stripped down and side by side.

Yeah for sure it is a really great engine! I remember looking at them and really wanting one probably back in 2004 or 2005, but at the time a 1/2 cut from G&S cruisers was $14k for a 1HD-FT and $20k for a 1HD-FTE, and I am sure they are even more now. Haha. Unfortunately at this stage of my life I have to stick to petrol engines since they are much cheaper.

From memory, so don't quote me, they are 31 or 32mm. They are beefy!
A little internet searching says 33mm!! A 1FZ is only 26mm.

Seems like it will handle as much torque as you want to give it.

Not just rusty but the Pigs frame also has this.

Turning Pigs axles into rollers for projects and when I want to pull the projects axles but not disable it.

Cheers

Both front coils are busted as well as both front bottom shock stems.

Not much left of it now, probably turn this into a body cart.

Despite what you were sold, I am always amazed at the efforts you go to to make things right on your builds @SNLC. No corners cut. Loving this build, Ian.

Can we reminisce a little about how this vehicle/frame was initially described by those that sourced it?

Needs some lovin' to get it optimized
Other than what's noted below, there's not much for rust
"The Bad:
[...]
--Has rust perforation behind the left rear wheel arch (there were rags stored in the compartment with the jack)
--Some rust starting around the rear side window rubbers and on the right front fender (where the flare was)
-

So the last couple days of swapping around chassis and finally taking Pigs axles has allowed me to do this.

I swapped Pigs axles under this build so I can keep the build as a roller while I fully build out these axles.
