I’m back, life got in the way but have steadily been making progress on the truck and daily driving it to work.
Work I’ve completed since last time
-Swapped to the beefier tie rod, was unable to get one of the ends to break free, we torched it, soaked it in PB, broke out the biggest breaker bars and cheater bars I had, no dice but since the rod ends and the length was good enough to get a proper inwards toe I left it as is but will likely replace the bar in the future.
Added dobinson remote reservoir shocks along with their dampner
Swapped out the delta arms to get the corrected caster after the lift, the bushings were in great shape too and didn’t need replacement yer
Swapped out the front and rear sway bars and drop brackets
Swapped out the beefier trailing arms also with good bushings.
Since the original gear had seemingly original rubber that was hardened and cracked the rig is overall smoother than quieter. I also repainted everything I had with engine enamel… not because I researched the paint but because I had it laying around and I had previously painted my bumper with it and that things taken a beating and the paint has held up well over the years
Speaking of bumper beating I was able to get it out on the trail and it became my limiting factor, the AOE is stout but it’s heavy, sticks out far and was never my favorite looking so I’m selling that and have dissent front and rears on the way
Not this upcoming weekend but the following I’ll be putting the front RCV axles with the 30 splines on the input and output sides
I have a bigger project coming up with a move to Boise in the next 6 months so I’ll continue to be an inconsistent poster here and I’m sorry in advance for those of you following along
