You're killing me Mike. Even Danise smiled with that one.

Dan, thanks for throwing the 60-series in play as well, even if everyone who posted after you ignored it.

Just an idea. What about keeping the state in yellow as a background, then put a mustard yellow 40 on rocks in the foreground with the red zia symbol on the door. The lettering for HDC can be put where it fits.

For the new members and those that don't know what the current HDC logo looks like....

I actually think the current one is just fine. For shirts, we could do the big logo on the back and a small one in the front though.

Have an idea here, just a thought. How about a new style every year or so? We could change the style of it each time to add a different model of truck, that way everyones taste is taken care of.
Thoughts?

I would take what we have now and make it round.

Round is good but you loose the shape of NM in the blue background. Hell, I work with NM maps every day and it takes a bit of imagination on my part to see the state's outline as it is in the current logo. Steve's avatar has his 40 framed in a sandstone arch (original pic showed much more of the arch). How about da 40, err, a 40 starting downhill outta the arch and the locus of the zia shining just above the arch?

i think round would accetuate the shape of the state nicely. i like the current logo too, especially if we intend to stay with a 40 in it. i vote make it round and leave it.

I have no idea who did our current logo, but it really is us. Zia, outline of the state, "New Mexico, USA," red FJ40. About the only thing I don't like about it is the "HDC" on the grill. Redundant since it says High Desert Cruisers on the bottom, and we are a Toyota club. "Toyota" is a missing element.

Suggestion. We need to give out our stickers in the registration packets at the event in Ruidoso.

As I recall, Dave Aley's wife had a hand in our current logo.

I had the same thought as Jon. Let's get 'TOYOTA' back onto the grille of the 40. Then make the sticker round. I think that would be a great freshening of the logo but keep it pretty true to the important stuff.

Ya shure...my main point was to make the state outline more clearly visible so it really indicated NM, the 40 hides part of the state outline in the current one. The only other suggestion I would have, although it might make it too busy... since we're "high desert," maybe have a juniper or other high desert plant beside the 40.

Just an idea:

If we change to a round logo, how about focusing on the zia symbol with the outline of NM in the background. Then have the 40 coming through the center circle of the zia. HDC can be written on the border along the top and NM USA be at the bottom. Just a thought though.

Yeah, how about pockets - and a large one on the back?

Steve and I usually agree on most things but I would not be in support of a large pocket on the back of the new HDC shirts. If he wants one there, then he can sew it on himself.

However, an appropriately sized pocked over the left breast would be a convenient place for me to put my readers now that they have to go everywhere with me.

(... and yes, Onur, I said "breast" not "nipple". Get your mind out of the gutter.)

Hope you guys don't mind. I called my brother and told him the comments that have been addressed on this thread. He looked at the current logo and had a several ideas and is going to sketch a few of them. Both he and his wife are art graduates, so they should come up with something nice. Once I get the skecthes I will post them up (to see what you think) if I can get this printer to connect to this pc. My other one crapped out on me.

Other than rounding it and taking HDC off the grill I think the only other "improvement" would be to make the text larger so we could have a smaller sticker.

Can the sticker version have a light colored back ground so that it stands out on dark color trucks and window's.

Thanks,
Vince
