that's one door, using the doors left overs for all the trim out. prolly weld on some tabs to bolt the thing on from the door hinge mounts, but it's just tacked for now:hillbilly:

will use the fender mount fj 40 side mirror for summer:meh: gotta fab some seat mount boxes for under seat stowage and try to keep the center area open to the floorpan for a console or ice chest, as well as try to keep some space behind the seats from the floorpan to the window...for the long type of tools;)

Now I'm wondering how you could do all that painting and not hit that fender patch?

LOL!

Tucker

cause I'm not about to ruin them...just yet;)

Lambcrusher 1/2 doors are looking SWEET:). Look even better with them new FENDER PATCH PANELS installed.:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

Thanks Bob.

 sir, yeS SIR!
I can't remember the last time I worked so much and was so broke

yeah, Bogus'are nice lookin...I like being able to hang a foot out the door tho, that's why I cut mine so low...now I need a step though, as my doors aren't hinged:doh:

got the CB installed, just need to hook up 12 volts to it and see if it works. also mounted one of those pintle hook/ball hitches to the rear bumper- I had to do a dump run...

aside from daily floggings and speeds of up to 80MPH, nothing has been done to the pig over the summer except I have removed the summer door and replaced the factory door...My thoughts at this point, move towards things such as power steering and finally doing something about the MAF front shackle reversal suspension. I had thought about fj60/62 rear springs up front and keeping the S/R, but the more I study whats going on there, the more I want ot go to something like the 80 series. I am not going to do a full linked pig, but the radius arm suspension that T used on the 80sand much like what landcruisin man had done to his pig should be just what the doctor ordered. I'll prolly try to use factory take off parts and maybe upgrade to coil-overs rather than seperete coils, and shocks.

Lambcrusher,

That's a very ambitious plan. It's always good to see the Half Hawg with his working clothes on. How's the flatbed been working out.

Hey, I have 80 front radius arms, OE rear links and panhard I'll contribute, should you want to endeavor upon the swap.

There'll be a few obstacles, to which you may be fully aware, but I think flipping the front radius arms is the best approach, along with coil overs, both requiring a lot of fab work, the latter getting into $$$ quickly.

Anyhow, if you'd like, you can have for shipping costs. The bushings have 105k old man miles on them, so usable, but would probably plan to replace if going to the trouble.

You make me wanna cry!;) Yeah, the flipped arms was what I was thinking; keeping the arms horizontal while gaining some clearance. And the coil overs seem like they'd be easier to fab for, regardless of their initial cost. I'b be stoked on those radius arms. I have a panhard from the rear axle swap, and was considering using it up front. The rear will stay leaf sprung for now, maybe with an SOA in its future, but the front has always wanted links and coils IMO. seeing the way the springs arched has never been as telling for me as when I parked on that there rock...I had a chance to envision what was going on with it, and the remedy is going to be invasive regardless of what type of suspension I go with. That being considered, there is nothing to it but to do it, and do it right, or do it 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or....well, you get the idea.
Let me know what you want to ship those front arms; I already owe you, now I'll owe you big;):bounce:

Thanks Ron. the bed has been great working from. I know I got the other bed to try and make a "proper" box for this guy, but the fatbed ain't broke yet, so it'll stay for now;)

Lambcrusher, Fender patch panels look awesome.:bounce::clap:

Thanks Bob.

Took an hour to dig down deep into the boneyard, but they're ready to go.

Bushings look good, honestly.

Still contend, after straying from Mr.T's on other builds and some components of the 80 build, that the marginal improvement a heim, johnny, or poly affords isn't worth the incessant complaining they're capable of, especially on a 5 link rear.

Not that any is relevant here.

Anyhow, dimensionally they're ~30 7/8" center to center on the frame rail end and ~31 1/16 center to center on the axle, with 25 3/16" between the frame rails, thought the mounts are outboard of.

I don't have a Pig here to compare, but according to the frame detail, there's 24 1/16" between frame rail webs, at the corresponding area where the frame narrows, which may only be an issue getting a wide enough spread on the PS of the third.

Also have the sway bar and "custom" sway bar drops, if interested in those too.

YES PLEASE! I have not had any luck finding coil-overs sets for less than 1400(and that may be just ONE); I may end up just doing coil springs ala the 80 series...found a set of stock take offs for the right price(free) and might spend the effort instead of the money...I don't think I can use the 80 series sway bar tho- it is too wide AFAIK...THANK YOU kind sir;)
