The FJ is going to need a set of wheels as it's being converted to disc brakes all around. It came with the old riveted wheels (which will be for sale). I know they are heavy but what do ya'll think about re-centered H1's? I have 5 sitting around is why. Maybe a little extreme for 32 or 33s?

If you do, DON'T run 'em w/o a mag. or other runflat, cut down or not. Get the pressed centers too. Depending on how much off roading you do, you may want to bend up some 1/4" round stock & weld around the circumference of the outer wheel for protection. You will be limiting your tire selection also.

These wheels are heavy. My buddy runs them on is heep and they're not fun to move around (w/42s). They're not bad or our military wouldn't use them. Are they 8 or 12 bolt? The different styles use different o-rings. 16.5" wheels aren't bad, but may limit your tire choices. It all depends on how you want to wheel. PVC inserts are also available and will reduce the unsprung weight. Personally, I would use Inner Air Locks or Stauns. The whole assembly would weigh a lot less if you really want double beadlocks.

Are you concerned about the weight of each runflat? I have 2 sets of H1's using the mag. runflats & both sets have been cut down. I wouldn't worry about adding 2 lbs. of weight per each tire vs. spending $400+ on inner tubes. I also run Stauns on another truck (w/o H1 wheels) & I can tell you it's been easier keeping air in both trucks w/ the H1's.

Yes i would use the pvc inserts. The rubber runflats were tossed with the bald 37s. There are 4 12 bolts and 1 8. I guess I would have to look at tire choices before I make a decision. The only reason I'm considering them is because I already have them sitting around. This won't be an extreme rock buggy. Just a fun maybe daily driver. Like I said it would only be 32-33 inch tire going on them.

I'm a huge fan of H1 wheels, think they are an incredible design that perform as advertised.

Have you ever seen any short tires on H1s?
These wheels are pretty wide...might require something taller.

post up some pics when mounted :)
