Given the recent issues with the engines and the QC hold for unconfirmed reasons, is it really an extreme?

For many of those reasons on top of not really liking it, I have officially pulled my FE allocation. We will see where things go in the next few years.

Speaking of QC Holds, it appears yesterday some started coming off hold in Houston and Long Beach. Today some started clearing in Newark. Hopefully they can crank them out quick.

Ready for mine to be delivered; it's been sitting in Texas since April waiting on this sunroof drain fix.

My dealer confirmed today that their trucks have been coming off hold, but mine's not release yet.

*eyeroll*

Same here. Mine landed in Newark in mid May and it seems they're working FIFO-ish. Hopefully that means I don't have too terribly long to wait.

My dealer told me yesterday that mine is in the local rail depot. That rail depot just so happens to be about a 10 minute drive from my office, so I burned over there at lunch after eating a burrito to check it out. Saw multiple GX550s, but not sure I saw any Land Cruisers. Unless you can clearly see either the front or the wheels, it's hard to tell the difference at a distance.

And yes, I am aware that doing this makes me a sad, pathetic individual.

Lol, by the 2nd sentence I was thinking I’d 1000% be doing the same.

the 250 arrived to the Middle East and first drives are coming in.
The 2.4 turbo engine we get ( without the hybrid) is worse off the line than the 1GR.
0-100 km/h times are atleast 2 seconds slower.

This is very very disappointing and inadequate.
So if we were talking about a 0-100 in almost 8 seconds before now its almost 10 seconds.

It makes sense now they Toyota continued with the 1GR on the 300.
If this 4 cylinder engine ever makes its way to the 300, it'll be disastrous.

Off the line peppiness is my least important consideration for this type of truck – I’m thinking of the 5th Gen 4R which is also a low end dog but is fine enough when getting going. I wonder how the non-hybrid 2.4 turbo engine will do overall. I suspect not great but look forward to hearing real world impressions.

Seems odd since new motor has similar hp, plus a good bit more low end torque than the 1gr. Any idea what the curb weight is on the non-hybrid 250?
The new Tacoma without hybrid 2.4 is supposedly around 7 second 0-100kph

Mmmm, nice $4k in fat tacked on by SE. Wonder if there are regions not bloating the ticket…?

Im seeing the stupid dashcam on all LC trims en route to my area.

The tire "upgrade" is a ripoff also. Note that they don't change out the spare and I would rather have the KO2's.

USA Toyota dealers are really screwing their most loyal buyers with useless, expensive add-ons and markups.

When I lived in the SE Toyota region, I would always buy my Toyotas out of state to avoid their BS. In the Rockies, pretty much all the ones I see on Toyota's inventory only have floor mats ($130) for port and dealer installed options, and selling for MSRP

Looks like I need to shop TN / MS.

I see the "USB charging package" has actually increased in price by $9! (That bs cost me $70), but it's not so insulting as the other crap I'm seeing on this spec sheet.

So all these dealer/port-added tire upgrades (to Nittos, for example) only come with four tires (the spare remains an all-weather)?
