You’ll get there. Having two kids in travel hockey definitely helped me. On to 400k, although at a slower pace.161717 behind....![]()
It's like all waitlists. It's a lot less commitment to get on a waitlist than to buy a 60k vehicle. Plus there were a lot of people on multiple lists. My local MSRP Toyota dealer had a list of 70+ deep on the 2024 LC before they got their first allocation. Their presumption was that they were going to take 12-18 months to sell through that list with them getting 4-8 units per month. I just checked in yesterday and was told the list is 12 people deep at the moment.
So...people aren't converting their reservations, generally, even at MSRP, and even here in excess-cash-land Northern California.
I can't imagine that they've received anymore than 10-15 units since the time the list was 70 deep.
Either the economy is about to take a dump, the LC is priced WAY too high, people don't like the new LC, or......some combination of that and other factors.
These were deposited (refundable) spots, so a little more teeth, but not much. It's just interesting to note the demand apparently not being as committed. It's like all waitlists. Point still stands. Just look at what happens every time a new Tesla model gets announced. Anyone who thought these vehicles were going to have nationwide waits of 6-12 months never accurately understood the market in the first place. People love the excitement of new models. They then usually rethink a year later and go "You know what, I'm fine with my current vehicle". You've been able to secure MSRP allocations since the first allocations in DC/MD/VA eith no waitlist and there are already reports of people buying them off the lots at MSRP.These were deposited (refundable) spots, so a little more teeth, but not much. Compare that to the multiple years of wait we hear in Japan and Australia for 300 and 70 series.
Likely so. Same dynamic with the 100/200 - if you’re in the $65-70k market, the jump up $10-15k isn't big.wonder if at $70K LC250 price point buyers switch over to the GX550 ?

I’m currently going through the mental arithmetic of if this pencils out for me…For sure.
For me, I feel like there is enough benefit to the GX550 over the LC to pay $15k more than the 1958.
One of my hang ups with this new gen is that the gap has shrunk as far as the luxury aspect is concerned between the two. I haven’t checked out a Lux+ trim on the GX but I have been in both a OT and Prem+ and while they are nice, they are not that much nicer ($15k) than a well equipped LC 250, IMO.I’m currently going through the mental arithmetic of if this pencils out for me…
Gx in the luxury and luxury+ trims has more
comfort features (massage seats, lumbar support for passenger, 2nd row bucket seats, moonroof, and kick sensor for liftgate) but also is $15k more and gets much worse gas mileage. Over a 10 year life it’s prob $25k more, or $2.5k per year. Is that a good trade? Depends on who you are and what you want, I want the lux features and good gas mileage. Meaning I should prob wait for the gx to offer a hybrid motor tbh.
Right. Boils down to preference for Lexus styling (and brand prestige) and towing capacity for those with the need. KDSS is a notable mention but Im willing for forfeit it with the LC. Im looking forward to 23mpg coming from years of running in the 10-15 range with our V8s.One of my hang ups with this new gen is that the gap has shrunk as far as the luxury aspect is concerned between the two. Nope, all models mentioned are cars, and crossovers, 2020 was the most recent year related, this is all happening in hind sight/retro spect.
Not sure if related to the hold on 250s, GXs, and 4runners but it is certainly convenient timing.
Yeah I saw the section that mentioned what models had the falsified testing. I didn't see anywhere that specified which models were barred from shipping. Though it is the logical conclusion that it's the ones that had issues.Nope, all models mentioned are cars, and crossovers, 2020 was the most recent year related, this is all happening in hind sight/retro spect.
