I concur. I'm in Central Florida and have the 698. Interstate I am in the mid 160-170's with a pinned thermostat as well. It has only gotten to the upper 180's - lower 190's when I have made trips to the mountains with extended elevation climbs.
Hayden claims the 698 has a 180deg thermostat; I consistently see temperatures lower than that.

I removed the Mountain Pass Offroad cooler bracket and got the Goliath Offroad bracket installed this weekend on one of my GX. Spraypainted black enamel to blend in as well.
VERY, VERY nice fitment. It is recessed and much closer to the condenser versus being 6"-8" out. I feel the mountain pass bracket is significantly more durable and heavy duty, however the Goliath Offroad bracket is very strong and rigid as well.
Goliath has a cross brace that X across the back of the cooler where as the Mountain Pass does not. Mountain pass cooler focuses on incredibly strong sides and mounting points. Mountain pass comes painted with a heavy duty black paint; Goliath offroad comes zinc coated metal.
Either cooler bracket you can NOT go wrong, both are built very, very well. I prefer the Golith as it sits closer to the condenser and is much more recessed. Both function exactly the same and both provide no difference in cooling ability of the Hayden 698.
I have two Mountain Pass brackets for sale if anyone is interested. One has been used for 2 months, the other is NIB.

The Goliath bracket looks like it fits better and is cheaper. I don't like the back cross brace as it blocks airflow. But I think is a great option now on the market.
The mountain pass bracket which I own is good, could be better at the fit though. It does comes with all the needed hardware and instructions needed to install. Tubing, hardware..etc and it even comes powdercoated.

I just got back from a weekend at the outer banks here in NC and spent a lot of time driving in soft sand. I've pinned my thermostat and have the OEM coler and found the trans pan temps to get up to 210F max, but typically stayed around the 190s. This is in 4 Lo wth the revs up to 3-4000 rpms over extended periods, the old girl was working hard. Ambient temps were not to warm, at the mid to high 70s.

The back cross brace would have minimal impact on flow…but I do agree, the mountain pass one is built well.
Not exactly. Mountain pass kit has hoses/small bolts but you still need the cooler and some Clamps
I’m currently putting together a kit with the intention of selling it eventually. The 1st one will go on my wife’s 460. I currently have the mountain passes on mine.
The end goal is custom aluminum bracket that will incorporate the oem oil cooler tube and have quality oem hardware that will fit a Hayden 678 or better quality PWR trans cooler.
Is the PWR their universal one? Ask for the COO if it's made in south Korea then it's likly the same as Hayden.

Not sure if it is the universal one. Looks extremely similar to Hayden, but this one is made in Australia and it’s technically branded c&r racing.

Prepping the Goliath Offroad bracket for another GX install:
Painted with flat black enamel, cured it with a heat gun and mounted the Hayden 698 cooler.

Bracket looks nice. It seems hard to justify spending $100+shipping/tax when the cooler costs $75 but it took me about 2 hrs of fiddling on my bracket build so I get it.
Reliability mod, it prevents the cooler from being a stressed member. That plus there is also no vibration isolation. So worst case It could fail since aluminum will fatigue over time.
If this is a real issue no idea but it's not too expensive to eliminate that as a failure mode

We'll see what my fluid looks like with my next drain & fill in a few months after so many years now with OEM cooler and a pinned thermostat. I am open to one of the large coolers.
You have to remember.. when I put mine on...in 2019 there was still debate that US market 460s had an external cooler at all. 3rd party really wasn't even a discussion point
