I am very excited to join this group after picking up a new to me 2021 GX460 last weekend in Kansas City. I am still jealous of you Nori Green owners, but Nightfall Mica is still pretty good. 7hr drive home was flawless, such a comfortable vehicle. First things first, needs all new fluids, then a mattress platform before summer.

Congrats on your new ride! Beautiful color!
A couple of tips that may help you along the way will be taking a look at the sticky threads on the main forum page.
As it states: GX460 OEM Part Numbers
The FSM can found here in the second post and post 13 will have all model numbers, dealer brochures, etc: GX 460 Manuals
Don't know how much experience you have off roading, but here are some tips for tools: Ultimate Trail Tool Kit (carry on for off road)
This is a good guide for aftermarket bolt-ons, e.g.: armor, suspension, etc.: Guide to GX 460 Builds and Aftermarket Products

Try to keep us up to date on your mods! Lots of pictures help!!
Enjoy!

Love that color! You might want to consider woolwax or fluid film for inside and outside of the frame, since you are in salt country.

.... needs a mattress platform before summer.
If you are one of the poors like me, I have a brief write-up on a budget 2/3 row delete and sleeping platform on the other main GX thread:

You could do it for under $70 if you didn't use the Victory 4x4 3rd row delete kit like I did, and just used a couple of 2x4s on their side under a nicely routed piece of plywood to cover the area where the third row was.

If you aren't one of the poors then you probably already have something sussed out from Goose Gear or the like....

I used layered 1x4 and 0SB to use the strengths of both. Used some cheap sound damping material and its very nice

Whether you swe ob it or not, you've got some work coming up. How much are you losing? If it is negligible, wait until warmer weather. Mine had no indication of leakage prior to opening it up. Once sealed, the water pump began to weep. I'll monitor and replace with a few more items in spring.
I've got it again. Not from the valley plate but rather directly under the water pump. Good opportunity to replace all the belt-driven components. 142K on the clock. Couple trips planned this year so I've got to get on the repairs.

Make sure your timing cover is good before you do all that, cause it will all have to come off again if it is leaking, too.

Timing cover is all good for now. 🤞

This reinforces my thinking that the initial coolant loss was always at my water pump. When I did the valley plate, I had no signs of leakage but the FIPG was beginning to disbond in some places. Mileage seems to be in expected range for replacement. Leaning towards replacing the alternator at the same time.

Let us know what you do for an alternator. I have started looking for higher output variations as I get closer to replacing it.

It will be this this one. 20 amps more than the original which helps keep the camper happy when underway. Never really had issues with the 130 amp but going up won't hurt.

Side trivia note for those that don’t know

2 zone HVAC models get 130A alternator and 3 zone have 150A
Guess I'm getting the right one after all. 🤣 I figured the 150s were reserved for ML/airbag equipped models. Good info!

Yay I accidentally have the high output one. 🎇

Speaking of alternators, mine failed on me on the way to work on Tuesday, mileage is 160k. I have the three zone ac, so went with oem part 38090(150a). Here are a few tips for anyone doing it soon.
1) It is not as bad as the coolant valley leak repair, but definitely worse than the water pump and radiator job.
2) I can confirm that removing the radiator(which comes out way easier if bumper is off) makes plenty of room for the alternator to come out of the top. Some say the bottom is the move, but I was working solo(car buddy that I always do projects with is out of town). Front sway bar install is way easier as a two man job, so top it was.
3) With the front sway bar in place there is not a lot of real estate to get to the bottom alternator bolts, tops are straight through the wheel well.
4) The PS pump is jammed in its place, be patient and just pry it gently and it will eventually come out.
5) As per the usual with my many years of being a diy guy, came apart slow and went back together quick.

Wonder if my front cover had been leaking?? I knew it was since I bought the car(95k). Never had a drop of oil on the garage floor, so just weeping super slow.

That's where the tech took a picture of the oil leaking from my timing covet, right into my alternator.
