It seems as though there are several of us already in Colorado and lots others who appreciate Colorado.....can we all meet up sometime next year when the weather gets nice and converge on some trails together?
I’m not a very good organizer, have no social media (save this), etc. but will do what I can to help make it happen if anyone else is interested.......

Summit 19?

@Lifted were you thinking of something other than the Summit?

Well, I’m new to this and not super familiar with the entire community but am assuming we mean the FJ Summit? That would be fine I’m not like an FJ snob or anything, it just seems like there’s enough GX’s to maybe have their own thing....just spitballin

Agreed. It appears the GX community is growing at pretty rapid rate so why not.

I like the idea, but there are a few challenges. A few years ago our club was trying to get an event together on Forest Service land. You need to be careful about looking like a commercial event requireing permits etc. we even looked into renting a pota potti to lessen impacts. All that said, I think if you limited the number of rigs over a long weekend it shouldn’t be a problem. Central Colorado has some very cool trails as well.

I am working on something with GXOR and FJ Summit to try and make it easier for GX owners to be a part of the event without setting up another event (which I have looked into, it is NOT easy). If you want to just do a trail run as an independent it is WAY easier. The moment registration or $ gets involved the level of permits and authorization go through the roof!

All the red tape is something I was not aware of.....thank you guys for mentioning that. Nothings ever easy! Lol I was not understanding the level of planning involved. In my head it was just meet at a trail and just go. As I’ve said I’m new to this so I apologize if I’m just detracting from an already existing project. Sounds like you guys are way ahead of me, if there’s anything I can do to help I’m willing, just ask.

You are fine in groups less than 10. Passed that, the rangers will take notice and can actually fine you (possibly) if they catch you out there without a permit.

Probably most Coloradans on this forum are already aware of this, but some of you "near CO and would like to go wheel there" folks might not be - there is a "GXOR CO" Facebook group, Log into Facebook | Facebook That would also be a good place to join and make this sort of suggestion. The're currently 105 members.

If you guys created FB accounts today let me know in PM :)

Yeah I’ve definitely checked out GXOR but am not a member of Facebook so only have limited access and familiarity. I had no idea there were that many coloradoans on there. I’ve made it till almost 2019 without ever joining FB (no judgement whatsoever on folks who have tons of friends and family on there) but the GXOR might just push me over the edge. Maybe I’ll make a profile for my business-probably should have already anyways.....
I had another thought, maybe in this thread or a new one titled What Are You Doing With Your GX TOMORROW?, people could post where they are heading to go wheeling if they want company. Then if someone wants to go the lines of communication can be opened up.

I had two want to join with plain names that just joined FB right after this post so I was just asking lol

Honestly I think we were typing at the same time I was actually replying to what Richard Ellis had said and only saw what you wrote after I posted! All is good and if/when I join I will contact you too

I won't do the Facebooks :bang:
