The flanges look way too thick to properly fit with the stock hardware, especially the studs on the transfer flange. On all of the generic yokes that we have seen, have had to take the yokes off and mill/spot face the nut contact faces down to ~1/4" thick. It's a pain, Just one of the reasons that I prefer stock/Joint Fuji.

You're right. It does not fit. The flanges are to thick.

I started another thread but I don't know how to link it via tapatalk. Maybe I should have just posted in this one.

Yup. Seen this twice recently. Spicer flanges are too thick for the OEM studs/bolts. I would not trust them without full thread engagement. OEM torque spec is way too high to be running on less than 100% of the threads. I have seen a driveshaft come loose under a rig, and it aint pretty!! John

Found it, commented there.

Doesn't fit. The bolt pattern in the flange is slightly off. Toy is center-to-center ~2.360" and the Tat is ~2.372. Any suggestions?

Mine slid on just fine. Well, I had to push and wiggle it a little bit. It's definitely a tighter fit than the stock DS. I'm talking at the TC.

The real issue is the flanges are too thick to allow for proper thread engagement at both the TC and front diff. I pulled mine off and put the stock one back on. Gonna see about returning it to have the holes ground down a bit or do it local. Or just return it and order a Slee one. I'm learning to stick with what is proven. A little late in this case.

I got one of these a year and a half ago because of good reviews by fellow mudders. I've been running it since then with absolutely no problems. I just went and checked and my flange isn't as thick as the ones in this thread. I've got full thread engagement, but just barely. I can understand you guys frustration but wanted to add that it's a good product when it's set up right. Hope Tattons makes it right.

Yeah I hope he does too. I hope I'm not coming across as frustrated or pissed. I'm not at all. I'm more bumming that I can't IMMEDIATELY run my super-duper-totally awesome-end to all my worries-brand spanking new-bad ass driveshaft.

You know how it is......

From previous threads back in 2011, several mudders got Tattons and installed without lock washer to get full thread and Locktite- didn't see any reported problems so that's what I'll do.

I'll check with my friend's machine shop to see if they can mill/ cut down the nut mounting are at thinner and report back when I get mine next week.

Just got this in cad. I would need to up the bolt hole size from .404 to .421 to get it to fit. Looks like it indexes off the spigot so I'm hoping this is ok? I'm out the rest of today with the family but will try to get on the mill tomorrow and see if I can remove some material on the flange to get full thread depth so I can keep the washers. Problem is I may need a jig to hold the thing while machining.

is everyones' like this? So it is not 100% fitment?....hmmmm

This is a very unacceptable turn of events. If this was a known issue, it should have been disclosed to us up front. Even leaving the washers off is not acceptable.

My bet is that the builder is not aware of how the tcase flanges use preinstalled studs. Spicer may have changed something in the design as well and it was not realized until now.

Let's see what the builder does. They are a stand up outfit and I am sure they will make it right. Before lighting torches, give the man a chance.

I agree, but, it has happened in the past with you and others apparently. i.e. known issue.

 time.

Who is going to lead up the convo with Curtis?
