I've tested my speakers with the Onkyo Sampler DVD all sounded fine on all frequencies, just waiting for the Vline arrival. Most like towards December end.

Can't wait for the Vline, I pretty much purchased it because I wanted bluetooth music.

That and the fact that I'm a giant nerd and can run Android software from my factory screen was the icing on the cake.

Get the GROM BT3. I also inquired with them about this cool looking Vline. Issue is that to use most of the features you need to have an always-on wi-fi hotspot and it doesn't work otherwise, and even then there's no calling functionality. BT3 gives you bluetooth calling and music, and charging.

Forgive me if this is an ignorant question but....

I have a 2003 LC that does not have factory Bluetooth, so no hands free calling. If I buy this and CarPlay is never approved would this turn into a expensive way just to stream music wirelessly? I know it allows more things but right now my main focus is phone calls thru the system

As I'm reading the thread and the product info in its current specs (without CarPlay) this would not allow me to make hands free calls through the system. If CarPlay is approved then I could make calls? I'm an iPhone user, so android auto I don't think would help me in this respect.

Am I correct in my assumptions? Someone please tell me I'm wrong.

i just spoke directly with the project lead at grom yesterday (december 8, 2016). they are just waiting for apple to authorize the license, but very soon, iPhone nerds like me will be able to use our OEM nav screen for Apple Car play, and forego expensive modifications.... , the beta tests are over and the technology is ready. android version is already on the market (2nd link). he said the license could happen any day now and he's optimistic, but that apple is unpredictable.

that conversation was enough for me to permanently postpone my planned conversation from nav to non-nav/installation of alpine ilx007, and wait.

the beta test has concluded. i just called about it yesterday. now we apple users just wait for apple to issue their license. he couldn't estimate the timeframe, but was optimistic. i suggest signing up for the grom newsletter.

The postman must have felt antisocial today. He left me the package slip for redelivery instead of ringing the doorbell. Guess I won't be able to install until Monday!

Got mine delivered last night. Will try to install this weekend.

Haha. I received mine Friday.however today I received an email that they shipped me the wrong cable. Will have to wait a couple more days.

Hey, looks like it's the wrong power cable as others have stated, I messaged grom waiting on a reply. Figured in the meantime I'd check my cabin filters, and run the microphone and GPS sensor. Should make for a 30 minute install once they send the right power
Anyone else struggling to find where the grom power cable connects?
cable.

What does the right one look like? Don't want to start the install only to find out I have the wrong one. Thanks

Here's what they sent me for a 2006 LX

Don't hold me to it with out showing me the pins but that looks identical to the one I have that does not fit my 05 LX

I got the replacement cable in the mail and have done the first part of the installation. I have the Grom Vline running and tested. Left it in the glove compartment as I didn't route the GPS and microphone cables yet.
I will be looking for a place to put it as I don't want to loose my glove compartment. Looks like we will need some kind of custom mount. I would pay to get one made of a strong material.
Looking forward to get internet in the car to test.

Y'all are killing me, as mine is wrapped up and under the tree.

Now I get to worry if I have the right cable or the wrong one, and am I going to be disappointed because I can't install it on the 25th...
