For those that read this thread:
Something has come up recently more than it has in the past and it has to deal with how I quote shipments.
My website may give the impression that you will receive an instant quote once you complete the form. This form is generated by the software company I use for quoting and has a generic "thank you" message that displays at the end. I unfortunately don't have a way to change that generic "thank you" message to describe in a better way WHEN you will receive a quote. I'm working with them, but they take a long time to do simple things.
I have and always have had the ability to "auto quote" any lead that comes into my system, but I feel like that would be a disservice to the customer. There are just too many factors that go into shipping a vehicle that would change the price so I have continued to quote each individual shipment personally. This takes time so thank you for your patience when requesting a quote.
As always, thank you to every one of you that has continued to use me over the years and recommend me to your friends and family.

Maybe they could send a verification email instead of the popup message, so people know they submitted the form.

My add blocker had me confused and i didn’t see a confirmation email or message on the website so I may have submitted for a quote two or three times.

Another great transport experience moving a FZJ80 from AZ to TX. Customer was super happy with the service and I was very happy with the driver and dispatch people who kept me in the loop during the process.

Wanted to thank Aaron for coordinating the transport of our 1977 FJ40 from the far eastern end of Long Island to OIB, NC. Aaron answers his calls and responds to messages in a timely manner. Very professional and would recommend Summit Transport anytime.

I was in a bad situation outside of Yellowstone with a dead LC100 (now to find out it was fuel pump but the CHINA hunk of s*** from parts store wouldn't put out enough pressure to work). I first thought his pricing was out of line when you get these low dollar quotes..... I should have known bait and switch. Anyway I reached back out to Aaron (also used him 10 years ago) and he got it handled. Any hiccups along the way which there where he communicated well and very honest.

Anyway use him....

Don't think twice.

Overall I had a good experience with Aaron but had a little issue with the actual shipper that I think could offer a good lesson learned to all.

There was a miscommunication between me, Aaron, and the shipper that led to minor damage to my vehicle. The short version is to make sure the vehicle condition and photos accurately reflect the vehicle as it will be picked up. Communication with Aaron, timeliness of pickup and drop off, and documentation was all excellent.


Long version:
My truck (80 series, stock height, no factory rack) had both Yakima bars on the gutters and a basket on top of the bars in the photos provided by me to Aaron.
Those images were passed on to the shipper with a note that the basket was removed and only the bars would remain, but the shipper apparently interpreted that message as "nothing would be on the roof".

Upon inspection and loading, the shipper asked for the yakima bars to be removed but we didn't have a key. The shipper didn't decline transport and apparently made it work. During loading, I observed and heard the shipper ask how to open the rear doors because the door lock actuators were not functional and observed the shipper open the rear doors.

Upon delivery and inspection, we observed that the rear doors on both sides wouldn't open. The shipper originally started with "the rear doors never opened".
Then we observed that the gutter was the impeding object and that the gutter deflection was right at the Yakima bar mounts. The shipper slowly came to the realization that either they had jacked the vehicle up causing the damage or there was not enough clearance and the damage was caused by a large bump in the road. The ultimately acknowledged that they had caused the damage and the issue was on them.

The gutters did not bend back by hand and a quick roadside negotiation was had about compensation to fix the gutters. We agreed to a reduction in the COD.

After a little time with some hardwood and a deadblow hammer, the issue was mostly resolved.

So, just an awkward conversation on the side of the road and a little time to work the gutter back. Damage COULD have been worse or could have happened to a more "pristine" vehicle and wanted to pass on the learning.

Thanks for sharing! I agree that this most likely happened from the vehicle bouncing while in transit-a detail that was overlooked by the driver regardless of what he was told about the rack/basket. I'm glad that you and the driver were able to come to an agreement about compensation as that is always the best way to go. I'll add this to my growing list of things to look out for while scheduling with different drivers/trailer types.

I wanted to share my story because I think shipping vehicles is a total crap shoot typically. So this is the first time I have shipped my 60. (Which is a family heirloom as far as I'm concerned.) So I was nervous, to say the least. But I just shipped my 40 a couple of months before and had good success so that made me feel better about it.

I was in contract with BAT to ship it... which was okay as far as communication goes... but weeks went by and it wasn't happening. (Six weeks) So I knew I needed to go through someone else.

I used Aaron a couple of years ago to move a 62 that I was helping sell. It went smoothly.

So I called him up, he actually lives in the same town as my girlfriend so we decided to ship it there because it was coming from a small town so having one side of the shipment close to a big hub city gives it a better chance of getting it picked up.

Two days later he called me and asked if it could be picked up. Transport showed up late (Pretty common haha)

But a day later it's back in Colorado with me! They were great and had great communication! Aaron was on it as well. Showed up, no problems!

I will be using Aaron again for all my shipments.
