Yep, I plan on selling all my stuff, move and then try to find a nice HZJ77.. always wanted that rig!

Funny, I have busted my butt for the last 5-6 months with Trail-Tailor... (HAD A BLAST MAKING BUMPERS) BUT when the numbers are all in..... I could have made the exact same money working for 3 weeks in my old Oil and Gas position... HMMM... 3 weeks $$$ vs. 6 months $$$..... = same $$$... NO BRAINER HERE!

J
You also had some startup cost and learning curve to figure into this equation J. Sorry to hear you are not able/willing to stick with it. And glad to have been part of it!
I'd love my business if it weren't for all those dammed customers[emoji2]

s***e man! Say it isn't soo_O. I guess I'm glad I got my order in for the T-T bumpers when I did.:( It really stinks that you have to return to the old grind of a regular gig, especially with the fabricating talents you have Jason. I wish you all the best in whatever endeavor you pursue. You sir, are a class act and true gentleman to deal with. Thank you for bringing to life the armor I could not build myself or buy off the shelf for that matter. Glad we had the chance to do business!

A,

Several guys here on MUD know... I could have retired when I was in my mid 20s... I had an extremely successful code shop in Texas that I sold to a large oil/gas mfg company.

I try to stay busy because I go stir crazy when I'm at a stand still..

Cost never had a thing to do about it... But the fact that I refuse to be screwed is everything.

J

I'm very saddened that you're discontinuing TT and that it's for unpleasant reasons. Hopefully you will at least pause a few weeks and reconsider selling Goss. He's an awesome truck and you've put a lot of heart and effort into his build.

Good luck on your new path.

Well, sad to hear the news.
Silver lining: I am positive this will give you time to head west!!!! (To hang with me of course!)

Or you can just say it like Davy Crockett did, "You may all go to hell and I will go to Texas!"

Sad to hear about the changes in your life J, but I know you are doing what is best and you'll be back :)

But seriously though. Texas wasn't that bad was it? Come back. We have all the beer and guns you'd ever want. :hillbilly:

This is truly sad to hear. I have really enjoyed reading your build and armor threads and was hoping to one day get a rear bumper. But I know how a bad customer can really put a damper on things. I run a bicycle shop and love bikes and biking but the s***ty people that I have to deal with sometimes really bum me out and put a damper on the whole thing. Good luck with your next project, I'm sure it will be a good one!

Ahh damn I wasn't that bad of a customer was I... :flipoff: lol jk.

Sorry about s***ty customers... I say we make him mud famous. GRAB YOUR PITCHFORKS EVERYONE!!!!!

J, your contribution to this loose- knit and eclectic community is beyond measure. Vicariously following your exploits is a constant reminder of how much a determined guy can get done in a day, ha. It's a valuable service you provide to many in words as well as armor. And thanks for taking the time to tip back a brew with noob like myself.
Best of luck as you create the next chapter sir. Regardless of the direction I've no doubt we have not seen the last of Reevesci in 60ville.

Honestly J, if you quit now then the terrorists win. We need more MADE IN USA stuff. Think it over Christmas break, hopefully you'll change your mind. Best of luck either way.

A, I grew up there... I don't mind it, but the wife says NO!

YEP!

The wife and I stayed up late talking about this issue. She doesn't want me to stop building bumpers and I should just limit my production and require 100% certified funds up front. Said she has never seen me happier than when I come in from the shop looking like Pig Pen from Charlie Brown.. I'm not sure what I will do yet. I have a few customers I need to finish up and maybe by then I will have a new vision.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support.

Jason

Hey J...just heard if you wanna go to the French Laundry or similar you pay 100% of the prix fixe cost up front when you make your reservation! That's one large! No show...no return!

If it works for them...;)

J,

Wife's sounding pretty smart to me. I think you should do a model where you get funds up front and/or only sell to people that can be vetted before hand (either directly or by someone else on MUD).....it's a given these days that there will be the d.bag that ruins that will try to screw people over like this....I just thought you wouldn't see it on MUD.

That said if there's someone on this site thats screwing with one of the best contributors, fabricators, and all around good guys - it can't be left un-checked. Calling this person out is the honorable thing to do....people have to be held accountable for their actions....to much is allowed to slide these days...it has to stop.

I say we Charlie Wenzel this prick.

For those of you who don't know the story of good 'ol Charlie grab a beverage of your choice and read on the proper way to fix a tool.

@Major Nelson I'm sort of okay with that, but let's not clutter up J's thread with that crap anymore. If he is the only person who knows who it is, I can't see him giving the name anyway.

IH8MUD is a good website let's keep it that way.

I would be upset at you selling Goss, especially after all the work you put in and only a year or so of ownership. Have you wheeled it much?
