OK thanks A, I'm looking into U-Line making me double-wall cardboard shells and then I can just secure those to standard style pallets. Looks like I need to go with a bolt-through strap fastening system. I was hoping the screws wouldn't pull through.

Thanks again for the feedback,

J

Spray foam is your friend. :)

Cheers

Why not liner the whole cruiser J? I like the middle two the best. Far left seems too orange and far right seems too brown (almost like a burnt umber color - sorry my crayon box is the 64 color box from years of art and oil painting)

G, bringing back an old post of yours.... I said no on the whole rig, but as YOU ALL KNOW... constant changes with me............I'm about to pull the trigger on 3 gallons of the Monstaliner- Read My Lips.. Here is a Tundra that was done in the same color scheme I'm going for... I will be adding black to the center of Goss' hood as well..

Is there a way to get a smooth finish on it? I would think washing it would be impossible. I'd forever be worried about missing that one spot of rust that just gets to grown un-noticed (is that a word?) under the monstaliner. (though i have thought about rolling that stuff in my interior. :)

^...and if you change your mind later down-stream...well you'd need to be body-work handy as J to make it go away :D

The Monstaliner finish on Marley (last build) was pretty smooth, never had an issue with washing the East Texas red clay off him... RUST... WELL.. nothing a tiger disc, 16 ga sheet, a welder, quart of Monstaliner, and a few hours can't take care of.. The Monstaliner (well any liner.. can be shaved down, cleaned and applied over) Just have to be patient and pay attention to what you are doing.... I'm not worried about that issue one bit..

LOL... like the Red My Lips... Thinking that I am going to do BeBe in the Midnight special with a white roof to help keep the temp in the truck down some.

FYI, recent M-L work done on my 80, we sprayed it. Bit rougher texture than seen on the Tundra, at least from what I can tell. Hood holds a lot of dust in the texture, side of truck not as much. Have 2 chips in the M-L in 6 weeks. One in front lower valance from a heavy rock hit, even dented the valance. One in the sill from another rock. No panel damaged but chipped through the M-L. Both I think I can touch up. I drive a gravel road every day (Spring Gulch) and have aggressive tires, kept my flares though.

I think prep is everything with most bed liners. We prepped my truck well before spraying. I got to say I had Line-X in the bed of my Tacoma and liked it more then M-L. But it faded, not sure if they have that resolved these days or not. Also not sure if Line-X is tintable. Also not sure you can get it for home apply. But it is a superior product in my mind. The M-L doesn't seem a ton better than Dupli-color or a few other auto parts tore liners I have used other than it does have a catalyst.

Cheers

Looks like its going quick...

Thing looks mean already, nice!

Owner came by last night and loved it, said he had told several people about my work.. Maybe it will score me some more business.

ML is the best home DIY version I have run across.

Yes, prep is everything and with ML it can't be applied over bare metal it is NOT a DTM product. I spray my rigs with a minimum of 2-3 coats of epoxy primer and let it completely cure out prior to scuffing and applying the ML (a week or longer), scuff the epoxy, clean and apply. Ambient temp is important during the application as well. Gotta love a heated shop.

Here is the texture of the ML on my last build. Washed clean every time.

Dude you got some Popeye arms in the reflection with the green masking tape!

Dodge bumper is done. My buddy needs his truck for a few days so I'll start on orders now. Front and rear to build and ship out.

Cleaned up the shop and installed the Aisin hubs on Goss. Thanks again Georg for a fast delivery.

Cheers

With all the plate work in that dodge bumper it looks as if you have your plasma table up and running...?
Got a thread going on that project too?
