I was so happy with my the ARB bull bar I bought a few months ago....until I saw this. :bang:

Dammit, nice design and of course is expertly executed J.

Lets see some sliders....i need to get some.

So, I keep running this through my head... Monstaliner the whole rig. Red one the body and black lower skirt and window frames. Mimick the 2012 FJC TT??

glthfj60 and jcardona1 I need some input..

Johnny, I know you used something other than Monstaliner (Raptor I think)

Jose, you did use Monstaliner (2 gallons was a little thin IIRC)

If you had to do it over, would you liner your rig again? Pros and Cons?

If I go this route, I will still lay down epoxy primer and then I'd like 3 good coats of liner... About 3 gallons of red and 1 gallon of black from my calcs..

The 3L5 Radiant Red (Toyota code) will cost me around 800.00 for all BC/CC supplies plus 100.00 for the epoxy primer.. Monstaliner tintable will be around 500.00.

Thanks,

J

U-Pol's Raptor Liner is what I used. No regrets whatsoever. Tinted the top 033 White, whole underside is painted in black.

Lots of pros. Can't think of any cons for my personal use. I'd do the same exact thing again in a heartbeat.

Thanks Johnny, I've still got a bit of time before I get around to this. Goss, will never be a trailor king and running through the woods and BLM will definitely stratch the HELL out of a BC/CC or single stage... I'm leaning heavily towards the liner.

The Monstaliner "Read my Lips" is the color I'm thinking. It is the brightest red MM has right now.

I think lining instead of painting is a great idea. I've been wanting to do it for a while now to my rig but that project just hasn't come up on the list yet. Monstaliner is the product I planned on using too.

Mike, thank you for the reply. I've used Monstaliner on 4 projects now and MM has my business.. I know for an entire rig, one color, will be about 3 gallons..

I'm doing body work on Goss today...

J

Got started witht he filler today. Eveerything from the rear doors forward and the back gates are ready for primer. Next weekend I'll start on the rust repair on the rear quarters, wheel wells, rockers and inside floor pans...

I'll probably order the Monstaliner kits so they are here on stand-by when I'm ready to go.

All my tubing should be delivered Tues/Wed... So I can complete my customers bumpers and Goss' as well.

Cheers,

J

Me likey.

I had two friends go with Monstaliner on their 80 series rigs. Went with Monstaliner colors and painted it on with a brush/ roller. They look pretty good in person.

Would be easier to do a 60 though. Less trim pieces, etc.

:hhmm:

A, I plan on stripping any and all trim, badges and vent ports where I can when I do this.. I also am looking into auto door poppers as well.. No door handles/ Yep shaved... Just need to do a little more research...

Here's a vid of what I'm thinking..

And the kit I'm looking into... (looking for a 5 door kit, no luck so far)

So you're going to debadge, shave the fender vents, and shave the door handles? What about the lock cylinders?

Why even have a key at that point? lol

My biggest fear with that would be failure and unable to get in the truck. I'm sure there are safeties and what not, but I like the simplicity of a key and lock cylinders. Less fab to do, and for me that is a good thing :)

This gonna be beautiful! Were planning on color matching the bottom half of the 80 soon in monstaliner so be ready for the dumb questions, J. lol

If I go this route.. Everything will go.. even cylinders.. I had a kit years ago on a '56 F100 truck.. I loved it. You have to run a Pos/Neg post to a remote area for "jumping" it, in case of a dead battery (like a Moroso drag car style for charging) .. Never had an issue though...

Patrick, its all in the prep.. Try not to sand all the way to bare metal on the "Lobster". The Monstaliner needs a coated surface to grab onto and bare metal is insufficient. I will shoot Goss in epoxy primer and then apply the liner, just like I did on Marley and CY's Leo...

Let me know if you have any questions at. More than glad to help you and Aiden (hope I spelled his name right) out.

J

Sure thing! Thanks bud
And you were close enough with "Aidan" haha
