You are doing quality work Rob. The lack of overdrive will be OK if you do 35 or 37” tires with 4.11 gears it will cruise at 65 at about 2K RPM.
I just hope that FJ40 t-case holds up. Does it at least have the lower 3-speed low gears in it?

Gears were swapped during the rebuild, until we finish everything up I'll run the stock 3;73's I have options in the shop 4:10 and 4'88 set. When we drove to Texas in 2017 we ran at 70-75 2500 rpm with the 35's so its going to be fun playing with the gears. I have no doubt the t case will hold even with the small block. I've logged thousand's of miles on the 45 with no issues. Thanks for the kudos. Its no 90 day LV build LOL for sure

Carb rebuild has started I should have it all back together tomorrow, Then we going to finish up on heater lines, trans cooler lines and lots of misc stuff. Yeah I kind of mocked up the new air cleaner to see how it looked. IM STOKED !

I will work on getting a clutch fan down the road, I need to get the 60 moving on its own power in the next week since my buddy is letting me use his garage. Yep that's a Toyota 6 blade fan LOL

Sounds like the exhaust is done!! A hint of a little camshaft! Nice build mate!
I'm really stoked about this motor considering I got it in a parts trade and just figured it was a good one.

Time for some updates. Got the high pressure hose made yesterday for the power steering. By Friday I should have the driveshaft and the rest of the parts for the throttle set up. Were getting close

A quick and productive day. Throttle cable and pedal installed. I used the FJ60 pedal turned out at the top its slotted like a 40 so mocking up the cable was easy. A little tweaking and it working perfect . Next time I will measure and cut the cable for the trans kick down. Were getting close

Its been a while since I have posted up. After finding out the guy that built the motor got cheep we ended up pulling the cam and replacing everything on the top end. Since that time I have been working out a few bugs. We are really happy with this build. I ended up ditching the carb and going with the Sniper fuel injection what a Great product. Also we got rid of the machinal far and went with the duel Ford contour elect fans
