@WanderinWhitlows ..... "they are only found on Troop Carriers" ......
Putting Troopy parts on your Cruiser will cause an overall devaluation and should be avoided at all cost. :)

This Land Cruiser is staying in the family forever, or until I die. Whichever comes first.

Front Runner Spare Wheel Step

...Just my $0.02.

I've already made plans to fit a Front Runner tire mounted braai there underneath the Joey Pack tire cover that I have now.

I did a similar tray in my old Pajero iO. I used the truck for dive trips and had a specific restraint target I wanted for my tanks. I recessed my seat track rails and used SS sleeves to prevent the wood from being crushed. My best gues was 1000 or restraint.

Looks great. I'm using this wooden panel as a temporary thing until I can get the drawers made and installed.

Not much happening to the Land Cruiser lately as I've done the surgeries and have been fiddling with the Tacoma wrapping up some projects with it. To fill the time I've been ordering parts and supplies to get ready for the next time I feel the urge to go out in the 100° + heat and fiddle around in the shop.

Received the new rear shocks to replace the previous owners air shocks and some additional leafs to insert into the front leaf pack. Once the new leafs are in and the air shocks and their accompanied 1" leveling kit - which lowered the rear end - are out I am hoping to see a 1" gain all the way around which will hopefully give me the added articulation I want. Thank you @cruiseroutfit for the fast shipping. Also received some heavy duty silicone socket strips and some of the new sockets I ordered as I like to keep recovery/tool case in each truck for safety.

@beno sent some new trim pieces and lenses to help clean up the overall appearance as well as some spare belts and filters. I can see now that he has a sense of humor as his box arrived on the first official day of summer and he threw a beanie cap into the box as well.

Excited to see your draws. I'm planning on a custom build, but I'm going to wait until I'm state side. The wood I want to use is far cheaper.

For the top panel and drawer faces I'd really like to use a bamboo ply but it's quite pricey here in the central states. Still browsing through materials for the time being.

Not much going on today. Came home from dialysis and waited for a custom hand built canoe that I had ordered to be delivered, shipper decided to let me know around 17:20 that they were not going to deliver it today after all...

Handled some pedestrian yet necessary issues on the Land Cruiser today. Thanks to @beno i was able to replace the crusty interior dome light, and front turn signal/marker light lenses and their gaskets.

After countless visits to @AlbertoSD's build thread I've been flipping back and forth about replacing the grille and the outside mirrors with black ones to get rid of the chrome. Asked @beno to gaze into his crystal ball and sadly he came up empty handed for a new OE black grille and exterior power mirrors. So it looks like I'm going to be stripping and painting plastic for the first time. Making book on how many times I have to do it to fix the screw ups from the time before.

Are you anti-bling? :)

I also considered replacing my grill but like you, I was told it wasn't available, at least at a price I could justify. I chose to apply new Mylar and leave it in place.

It was even hard to come by here in Japan. The market to find it in is Australia, but like you said, it comes at a cost. Also, unless I missed them somewhere, power mirrors are not available in black for us 77 owners, just chrome.

While browsing the Instagram this weekend, I thought this 77 looked familiar ;)

I don't know the person posting it, but took a screenshot of the image.

I met that guy and he has a sweet 61. Mentioned Mud to him but he says that he frequents Canadian sites. Seeing his 61 and some of the upgrades that he's made to it gave me a few ideas as well.

Kinda going nuts here as one of you had posted some pictures of replacement rear interior panels made out of aluminum with speaker cutouts and small doors for storage and now I can't find the pictures.

Does anyone know who posted them and where? Thanks in advance.

Don't strip you're grill untill you are convinced it's what you want. Plasti dip comes in satin and matte black. I recommend going that route first.

Never took a picture of these Rob Smith lights until a couple days ago. Taken with iPhone 6+, no flash, blah, blah, blah. My only niggling little nerdy complaint is that I wish Toyota would have placed an additional light housing in the rear above the back doors.
