5/8 continental hose and constant torque breeze clamps. Going to be replacing existing heater bypass hoses and clamps. Truck has not heat, and I prefer it that way. Heat system in the 80 is possibly the weakest link in the 80. Heater hose Made in the USA.

Hose part number: 65071
Breeze Clamps: CT 9410

Thinking about putting some heat protectant wrap around this coolant pipe and AC line. Any reason not to? Seems silly to run two cooling related items, super close to the hottest part of the engine?

Initial results of 15K fluid in the fan clutch. Coolant temperatures are about 2-3 degrees cooler across the board. Idle is around 182- cruising is around 184-186.

(More info to come. Idle is now sits at 178 after 10 min of idle. Very happy with coolant temps. Aux fan still to be installed.)

Some detailed photos of new 5/8 coolant hose in comparison to older hose. Older hose was about 1" to short, causing the pressure to cause a slight "kink", restricting the flow. With the new hose, I now idle 3 degrees cooler. I will take it!

After clearing a ton of carbon and junk out of intake manifold after P0401 CEL, I installed the catch can. Always impressed at how much junk it pulls. Even more satisfying to drain it.

Appleton Finned PS resi arrived today! Thing is a beast!

Turns out they started making them again, so I snagged one. Fram filter to be swapped out with OEM small oil filter based on the suggestion of Joey @ witsend.

Tonight’s “fix”. Corrected the single nut issue on battery clamp. Properly doubled up now. OEM: 90179-06206

All of the seals arrived for upper oil pan reseal. This is all the small stuff, big part is OEM FIPG. OEM: 00295-00103. All other part numbers are in images. Should be interesting to see if the job lives up to the hype everyone gives it...

Have a leak coming from the crank shaft position sensor, but don’t want to spend $150 to replace the whole sensor assembly because toyota does not sell replacement o-rings? These o-rings can be your fix. Part numbers in image. Specifically made for for high temp oil contact.

Cable management. Should help protect the beast of a harness for the LP9s. Also plan to run the OEM aux fan wiring though it into the dash.

Check out that coolant temp... 186° when holding between 80-85MPH. Fresh bypass hose without restriction bought me and extra couple degrees 👌🏼. Only part left is the AUX fan for lower speeds. Then onto the upper oil pan reseal.

Spent half the day with a brush and degreaser underneath the truck. What a mess. Glad I did, helped me ID a leak. It’s the oil level sensor o-ring. $2 fix. (OEM: 90430-27001)

Excellent. Good job.

Aux fan...is helpful to move air through the A/C Condenser at low speeds or stop and go traffic. I wired mine into the trinary switch, so it comes on and goes off automatically. Has a slight amount of 'run on' after engine shut down on hot summer days, but generally less than 45 seconds.

It can be wired up a number of ways to provide automatic operation or be operator controlled.

Nice work, and sick rig. I have some of the same issues you have with my 96 I bought a month ago and I'm slowly making progess. I'll have alot of downtime in a few weeks, so I will really be wrenching it up.
