Rear hub overhaul. I replaced both bearings, raceways, and repacked. I then installed, and realized I installed the inner seal in backwards🙄. So had to go back in, and replace with a second inner seal, as it is a one time use item. Then I went to install the pin screws... snap. One sheered off into the hub. Had to drill it out, and wait for new parts. Parts arrived, and went to tighten hub bolts...snap. One sheared of, thankfully with a nub sticking out, but with no threads. Then I had an idea, why not use the drill, and some map gas, and just reverse it out. Worked like a charm. Did all 6 studs in under 5 min. 23 year old hardware has a tendency to break, I highly recommend replacing as much hardware you can, as you come across it.

Brake fluid flush. Old in container, new in hose.

This was before I decided to go all out, and redo all new calipers, brake lines, brake pads, and hardware.

More photos to follow on brake system overhaul.

Excellent work. I like your style (do it right the first time).

Air filter also got the treatment. New filter, and emptying of the little cup at the bottom. Safe to say it had not been emptied in years.

Main hose that connects air filter to intake manifold also got replaced, as it was held together from duck tape. 1FZ Air Intake Hose: OEM 17881-66060

^^^^^

We call that the 'Tuna Can'...and yes..its apparent they work.

Pic below is not mine (I would never let mine get that dirty).

Rebuilt the power steering system.

Originally planned to rebuild, but turned out I had a remanded Chinese pump. Found a new OEM for $260, so decided to go with that. Vane gear was also damaged, so had to replace as well. Also got new OEM high pressure from partsouq for $170.

Went ahead and installed the wits end PS res and hoses. Super impressed with the kit. Love the fact that even drill bit and tap are included.

Partial tune up with new wires, and spark plugs. PO put new spark in about 10K ago, but decided to go in and check the work. Glad I did, gaping was way off. I assume he believed they came pre-gaped.

A big part of the rear end overhaul was bushings, boy did I underestimate the amount of effort it would take. All of the bushings looks solid, with the exception of one. Which was the upper passenger side.

Decided to stick with OEM bushings, the wits end bushing press kit was very helpful. 12T press is on the light side, and would recommend 20T if I had to do it again.
