I have a 96 80series. I want to just put on a flowmaster muffler ive looked at other threads but most are about redoing the whole system.

Is it possible to just throw on a flowmaster 40 series or something alike?

Most exhaust shops can weld in a Flowmaster. I went with the 50 series.

Make sure you listen to it - inside the cab - before installing ... for many reasons (among them being PO'd with the dealer and Lexus Canada for their piss poor and misleading "lifetime warranty" on the OEM replacement exhaust I had to R&R) I went with a stainless Borla. I do NOT like the drone of the Borla on long highway runs... it is very annoying and intrusive!

I have the Borla in the one I just bought for myself and the drone is not too bad, I really only drive about 2 hours in it to go wheeling in it though. Other than that it is just around town.

Sent from my SM-G920V

is there an app for that one?
No that I am aware :) but someone/anyone with the unit you are looking at installed in a similar vehicle. I recall old flowmaster mufflers that sounded cool.. outside....as does my Borla....but I do not enjoy the interior sound it generates inside. The 80 can resonate like a big kettle drum when you find the wrong frequency

I'll take a vid of mine so you can hear. It's not too terrible. A little annoying at times. But bearable and sounds pretty killer.

Not too impressed with how 212 horses of 6 cyl power sound. Reminds me of when people used to put cherry bombs on their 6 cyl chevelles.

Get what you like, but go Staineless (409 grade is OEM, Borla prolly 304). Don't go aluminized steel (walker) like I did or your looking at about 2 yrs and if your intelligent will say "Won't ever make that mistake again".

Flowmaster :bang:

it was horribly loud on my 40, and it sounded equally horrible when inkpot had one on his 80
