Anyone know what the stock gearing is on the 79 series?

as a nutted my front diff yesterday and need a new one
i would love to know the ratio of the petrol 79 series as the wreckers will only have diesel diff nuggets and i think there a different ratio

i tried to found out what ratio my code say it would be but couldnt
if i post my axel code maybe someone can translate it

how to get A02B and change it to a ratio lol

commonly called 4.10 but that is what that axle code works out to...

I think they are 4.3 same as the HDJ7* ,this site sells them.

but still a little unsure are the code works out to be 4.1 but the websites rosco supplied with the goodies says fzj79 has 4.3s...which leaves me still unsure

If you havea look here it shows the 4.3 ratio as the only diff available for the 79 series,at least in the ARL spec models.
Do you have K285 on your plate anywhere,thats the code for a LSD 4.3?

to be safe, pull the diff and do the count.
unless you are loaded then you can buy both and use the one you need and return the other...personally, i thought all 79 series were 4.30 but that code doesn't work out to it.

ill wait and pull the diff out next weekend or so ,and work it out then we can all learn a bit of fzj79 ratio
(lucky i got hubs on the front and part time 4x4 so i can drive to work and stuff 2 ) the fun bit was trying to get out of the place i blew the front diff in 2WD a boggy sandy river then all the boggy dry sand tracks when out of the river

Yep normal 4x4 cruisein driving on the surface is no worrys its once you click it in 2x4 and start to act 17 again and break through the surface that inch or two then it becomes a challenge but all in good fun
