Ah, interesting. Thanks for the tip.

If I spread my 285/60s out another inch being mounting them on a 9" rim, how much decrease in tire bulge should I expect. I have right at an inch of tire bulge now. Would it decrease that tire bulge a 1/2 inch? Is there any sort of thumb for that.
I don't know of a rule of thumb for that, my guess is it would vary based on sidewall height, load rating, PSI etc.. No question it would be less on a 9 inch rim because your tire would be spread out over a wider wheel service so less "bulge" on the outsides. The general rule I've heard for tire width on a wider rim is that for every 1/2" change in rim width, the tire's section width will correspondingly change by approximately 2/10". So your tires (In theory, so many variables) would be 4/10 of an inch wider on the 9 inch wheel. If I had to guess my 10pm on a Friday night beer math would tell me you could anticipate about 2/10 of an inch less bulge on each side of the tire... Keep in mind so many variable when you are talking about tires and wheels...

If I ever get new wheels I will get these, 18x9 with a 25mm offset, would proly put them flush with your fenders and allow proper tuck while flexing. And they look great!

Not to be a wet rag, but see where it says "Max Load: 2500?"

FYI, stock wheels with P285/60-18 stock tires, at stock inflation of 33psi, have a Load Limit of 2515 pounds.

Those wheels are not rated for enough load to work on the LC200.

Interesting.

Somehow I was picturing that decrease in tire bulge possibly help from the sense that I was picturing or thinking that not all the added offset 0.82"s would end up pushed because the reduction in tire bulge would be soaking up some of that increase.

Sounded like your thoughts are its going add another 2/10 or so more overall width. Making a full inch past where I am at now which would equate to a full 1/2'" out past my fender flairs which is likely 3/4" to 1" past the regular fender. Looking at some the pictures that might be right.

I was picturing overall tire width staying the same just the amount of bulge would decrease.

I am going to check out some tire specs later today, compare the toyo the nitto to the Yokohama's I have now for tread and section widths.

Thanks again for all the help guys.

Thanks again guys for all the help.

After studying a lot of pictures over the weekend and chatting with you guys, I think these will work, with my OE Toyota wheel flairs they should be ok as far as setting inside the fenders, I hope anyway.

My fall back position is, if they really don't look right to me, or there is to much rub to trim my way out of, I will look into level kits if its a rub issue, if its an out of fender issue, I can always use the tires on my other project I am working on with my little diesel Colorado .
I am going to try this setup on the Cruiser before I order the 18" black Anza's for the Colorado, same tire should work on either application. So if I should have to punt, I am only loosing out on some labor and the cost of the rims.

So that said, I pulled the trigger this setup this morning. I ordered a complete set of the black 18x9 20+ Trophy Fuel's rims with the anthracite grey rings same as what I had posted about at the start of the thread.

Also went with the OE size P285/60/18 Toyo Open Country AT IIs, I really don't think I can clear anything larger without a lift plus I wanted to stay with a P-metric 4 ply tire for comfort. I also ordered them with wheel sensors. I wasn't sure which way I wanted to go yet on the lug nuts so I order a set of chrome and a set of black lugs nuts, I am thinking the black looked good in the pictures.

They should be coming in ready to go, complete with road force balancing done on them.

I will post up some pic's once I have it all put together.

I was told I should have these all here within 8-10 days.

Thanks again.

New rims and tires came in today.

Fuel Trophy Rims mat black, with anthasite rings, Toyo open country AT2 tires P285/60/18.

So far the rub that I was concerned with appears to be really pretty minor, there is just a little bit right where I was expecting it, left front mud flap when wheels are turned hard left.

Here a few pics, it's late just finished putting them on a taking a quick spin. I will take some better pic's out in the sunlight tomorrow.

looks great! I run 285 65r18 on method +25mm offset. You will be fine.

Thanks. I sold my 2011 to some close friends last year.
I have my 2018 setup just like it only in Silver.

They fit and look good on there imo.
However there is a slight difference in shape of the front and rear facias between 07-11 and 2016-2021, the rear worked out fine, the font ended up needing a little extra rubber backing/gasket material added to seal them up at the very bottom right at the base of the front facia.
The only place that poses really any issue is way down low on that front facia. The 07-11 was a little more rounded then the 16-21 MYs.
You can't see in nor would you know about, if I didn't point it out, you can see just a tiny spot where there is rubber gasket material barley visible and you have to bend down and look for it to see that .

Toyota sold those from their own port installed option list and were listed on the LC window stickers on sothern market LC from 07-11 model years.
You use to be able to order them already painted from your Toyota dealer provided it was a southern Toyota dealer. Norther dealers didnt have access to them from their port distribution.
I don't know where they are actually made.
The only reason there is even a slight fitment issue, is because they are made for 2007 -2011 LC 200s not a 2018.
But still not a big deal it can and has been done.
