Has anyone successfully run 285 75 17 on a 15 or 0 offset on a lx and confirmed whether fender rolling is necessary?

I doubt you would. My 315/70R17's can just barely kiss the fenders at full stuff with the bump stops removed. I dont think they can hit with the bump stops.

But also, most people here are probably not running a +15 or 0mm offset since that is well outside the optimal range, especially for a tire that size.

What offset are you running?

When you say full stuff, do you mean when fully articulated?

Or doing a “double stuff” event where you’ve come down hard equally on each tire?

285/75R17 specs 33.8 x 11.2. At 15mm offset, will just be kissing the fenders and will likely need a slight tuck or roll of the front fender lips. Double stuffing will be touching the rear fender lips depending on the aggressiveness of the tire lugs and will need a trim/cut of reinforced fender lip return. Definitely needs BMC. All relatively easy to solve (IMO).

+0 offset will eat fenders.

I can tell you this because full fat tires can be as aggressive on the fender side. Just that narrow low offset tires don't have the inside meat of a wider tire. The math works out that the face of my wider 35x12.5 tires and 305/55 tires, both at 35 offset, are about 4mm more inset than the narrows you're proposing with 15mm offset. I had to address the fenders with the type of wheeling I do. It's also easy to forget that the cab/fenders do move as they are on rubber body mounts.

Perfect. Thanks for the math, insight and that pic of the rear tire/fender clearance…biggest concern is the rear fender as, I think, our pinch welded rear fenders are tough to roll effectively.

+25 offset on that tire in a Nitto Ridge Grappler clears everything inside and the fender OK on an LX, and barely touches the KDSS at full lock on an LC. Full bump in the rear, crossed up front and stuffed, all good.

As @TeCKis300 points out, 0 offset will trash your fenders on slow stuff where your front wheels are turned and get compressed, or if you fully stuff both tires in the rear on a bounce, unless you do a lot of rolling and possibly extending bump stops

I can’t speak to +15 but I suspect you’d hit the fender lip, given how my 34s stuffed on +25… when I went to 35s I stayed with x11.5” wide because the extra 12.7mm was almost certainly going to contact my fender
