I may be completely wrong, but I believe the "seam" is merely Velcro holding the two sections of carpet together. If I'm correct, it would hopefully be a simple matter to pull the passenger section apart and forward to access the fuel pump. I certainly hope this is the case, as I also have ARB drawers and don't look forward to removing them. . .
Well, you are correct that it's only a velcro strip holding the carpeting sections together there, but they go all the way across, no fore-aft seams. And, it's really tight under there, I can barely fit my fingers under the bottom/front edge of the drawer cabinet. Doesn't seem likely that they would be able to fold/slide the carpeting out, but perhaps it is.
In my case it's irrelevant, as I have several more wiring projects planned for the spring that requires the drawers to come out (and the side panels removed), so I'm just waiting until then for the recall appointment.
